The closest airport to the wedding venue is Juan Santamaria Airport (SJO) in San Jose, Costa Rica. Make sure not to get a flight to San Jose, California by mistake! To travel from San Jose to Quepos/Manuel Antonio, you can take a flight, shuttle, or rent a car. Flight The “puddle jumper” flight from San Jose (SJO) to Quepos La Managua Airport (QXP) only takes 25 minutes. Flights are about $130 each way. Upon arriving in Quepos, you can call a taxi or take a hotel shuttle to your accommodation. Book a flight using the following websites: flysansa.com costaricagreenair.com/en/ Shuttle You can take an air conditioned shuttle bus from the airport directly to your hotel with other wedding guests. The drive is scenic and takes 2.5-3 hours. The villa will be using the flight information collected on the RSVP page to help coordinate shuttles for those requesting transportation. The cost will be dependent on the number of people in each shuttle, and is estimated to be about $30-40 per person each way. Car Rental Renting a car is a great option for guests who plan on traveling to other locations in Costa Rica, or who desire the flexibility of having their own car. We recommend booking with the rental car company Sixt, and that you get a car that has 4-wheel drive. Also make sure you book a car that is automatic if you don’t know how to drive a manual! Of note, there is very limited parking at the Villa, so please check in with Victor or Natalie before planning to drive to the welcome party or wedding.

Makanda by the Sea is an elegant boutique adults-only hotel. It is situated on a wildlife sanctuary. The rooms are designer, with fully equipped villas and studios placed in rainforest gardens with spectacular views of the ocean. The hotel has an onsite gourmet restaurant and infinity pool. If you want to stay in luxury, this five star hotel is an excellent choice. We toured this hotel as a potential wedding venue, and can attest to how incredible the rooms are!
