The Wedding Website of Victor Cohen and Natalie Weldon
Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

The dress code is beach formal. We suggest opting for lighter colors and breathable fabrics. Formal tea length dresses, jumpsuits, and floor length dresses are all appropriate. For suits, we recommend wearing either a summer suit or a long-sleeved button down shirt with jacket and slacks. The wedding will be held on the roof of the villa overlooking the ocean, and not on the beach itself, so formal footwear is appropriate. Please avoid wearing all white or cream. You can see the photo above for examples of beach formal attire.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

The average temperature in Manuel Antonio in December falls in the 70s and 80s. It is pleasant and warm. We will be in the rain forest and near the ocean, so it will be humid.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unfortunately our venue has a strict guest limit, so we will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love your children, we regretfully cannot accommodate little ones at the wedding due to the venue's strict guest capacity. However, we are happy to help arrange babysitting services through the concierge at Villa Punto de Vista.

Question

What should my arrival and departure dates be?

Answer

Wedding weekend events will be taking place from Friday, December 8th through Monday, December 11th. Please come and leave as your schedule allows. For those wishing to partake in all wedding weekend events, we recommend arriving in San Jose by early Friday afternoon to allow enough time to make the trip to Manuel Antonio (allowing for flight delays, bad traffic, etc). There is also the option of flying in on the evening of Thursday December 7th, staying in a hotel near the airport, and catching the shuttle or a flight to Quepos the next morning. The wedding takes place on Sunday December 10th, so we request the earliest you leave be December 11th. If you would like to join us for a farewell catamaran cruise, then we recommend not departing until Tuesday, December 12th. Costa Rica is a truly incredible country, so if you are able to stay for longer, we highly recommend making a full vacation out of your trip!

Question

If I decide to travel in Costa Rica after the wedding weekend, where do you recommend I go?

Answer

There is so much to explore in Costa Rica! Costa Rica's microclimates range from the steamy volcanoes to the cool cloud forests, and from the dense jungle to the tropical dry forests and hot beaches. Here are some of our favorites: La Fortuna for the Arenal volcano, natural hot springs, and adventure activities. Monteverde for hiking in the beautiful cloud forest, biodiversity and wildlife, and ziplining. Tamarindo for its gorgeous beaches, incredible food, and lively town. Explore the beautiful nearby beach towns of Potrero, Flamingo, and Nosara. Las Catalinas for an upscale, walkable beach town (no cars allowed) that consists of shops, restaurants, and small hotels that are arranged to create a series of walkable public spaces interwoven with nature. Rio Perdido Lodge (a specific hotel in a dry forest) if you want everything all in one place - gorgeous hotel, great food, a thermal river, and all the adventure activities you could want onsite.

Question

What is the local currency?

Answer

The Costa Rican Colon (CRC) is the local currency. The exchange rate has been fluctuating between 550 and 650 CRC to the USD. US dollars are accepted in most locations (just make sure you get a fair exchange rate when prices are in CRC). You can also use credit cards including VISA and Mastercard (AmEx is not accepted everywhere), but make sure you use a card that doesn't incur a foreign transaction fee.

Question

Do I need a passport and visa?

Answer

You definitely need a passport. If you are a US citizen, your passport needs to be valid for the duration of the trip. You will also need to be able to present a return ticket before heading to Costa Rica, or you won’t be allowed to get on the plane! A visa is not required.

Question

How do I get around Manuel Antonio/Quepos?

Answer

To get around Manuel Antonio, you'll follow a hilly two-mile main stretch of paved road that starts in Quepos and ends at the Manuel Antonio National Park. Quepos - the closest town to Manuel Antonio – is small, walkable commercial hub with a bus station, marina, restaurants, banks and shopping. The route from there to the park is lined with a series of hotels and restaurants that ends in the very small beachside town of Manuel Antonio – also walkable. Bus The bus between Quepos and Manuel Antonio takes 15 minutes each way and runs roughly every half-hour from 5:30am to 9:30pm daily. The buses, which leave from the main bus terminal in Quepos, near the market, go all the way to the national park entrance before turning around and returning. You can flag down these buses from any point on the side of the road. The fare is C250. Taxi You can call a taxi to get where you need to go. A taxi between Quepos and Manuel Antonio (or any hotel along the road toward the park) costs between C4,000 and C5,000 (around $8), depending upon the distance. At night or if the taxi must leave the main road (for hotels such as La Mariposa, Makanda, or Villa Punto de Vista), the charge is a little higher. Taxis are supposed to use meters, although they don’t always. If your taxi doesn’t have a meter, or the driver won’t use it, try to negotiate in advance. Ask your hotel what a taxi ride should cost. - Red Taxi: +560-2777-3080 or +560-2777-1207. Renting a Car You can rent a car in San Jose and use it to get to Manuel Antonio, but you can also rent a car once your arrive in the area. The companies below all have offices in downtown Quepos or Manuel Antonio, but with advance notice, someone will meet you at the Quepos airport with your car for no extra charge. - National/Alamo: 2777-3344 - Economy: 2777-5260 - Hertz: 2777-3365
