Wedding Party

The team work that made the dream work. Meet some of our friends and family who have been beside us long before our wedding day.

Leilani Mataia

Maid of Honor

The first born of my two sisters, I first met Leilani in Santa Ana California when she made her world debut on a Sunday afternoon in 1994. She's my second in command, my shoulder to cry on and my right hand man. She's my cheering section but has also led an open rebellion against me in our own home due to loss of TV time or unsolicited chores. I taught her everything she knows ... and she taught me that I don't actually know anything. Lani is my maid of Honor but its truly been my honor to be her older sister.

Richard Figueroa

Best Man

I've been Richard's wing man for the last 10 years - and now, he's graciously stepped in to play wing man for me. Rich is the most honest guy I know. There isn't anything he wouldn't do for his friends and family, and I know because of all the good he's done for me. This guys business sense is next level, he could out negotiate anyone. I met Angel at his house ... The night we were engaged, in that same house, Rich gave the both of us a blessing that set a beautiful hopeful tone for our relationship. Richard is my Best Man because he's one of the best men that anyone could have the privilege of knowing.

Ohana Mataia

Bridesmaid

Ohana means family. It also means a free spirited adventurer who loves dogs and her mom but is voted most likely to either fight you or be the best camping buddy ever. Ohana is my youngest sister, a football player, rugby coach, and ski instructor. “Hans” is my arch nemesis sometimes but the only person I'd want in my corner always. She's my baby sister but there's nothing small about her personality or the incredible role she plays in my life.

Danny Pereyra

Groomsman

Danny is my parent's "first born in the wilderness" - Their first child born to them as students at Brigham Young University in Provo. He was my parent's first child to be married - while I'm their last. He's been my best friend for almost my whole life. As the oldest kid he made all the classic growing up mistakes first. I'm the second born and so had the chance to make them again - but with the added benefit of a brother's constructive criticism. I've always been physically bigger than Danny but He's always been the spiritual giant watching over me. I have a lot of friends, I have a lot of cousins, and I even have four brothers but I only have ONE big brother ... and I couldn't have asked for a better one in Danny.

Nana Pereyra Silva

Bridesmaid

This beauty is Vic's only sister - The youngest in a line of brothers, and the soon to be mom of our newest nephew due right in time for our wedding! That's TWO awesome milestones our families get to celebrate! I first met "Nan" on my first date with Vic. While Vic seemed cool enough on his own ... meeting a member of his family as kind and warm as Nana was one of the first inklings I had that a future with this guy would be a pretty good deal. Nana is one of many amazing women in the Pereyra family that I credit for helping shape the man who loves me so well.

Jefferson Silva

Groomsman

Jefferson. He's Brazilian. and He's smart. He's the smartest Brazilian guy I know. One of our favorite family past times is a cowboy themed role playing card game that involves shoot outs and masterminding your opponents. Jefferson has gotten pretty good at that game .... but not so good that he's ever beaten me. Of all the good things there are to say about about Jefferson - the best thing about him is how happy he makes my sister Nana. Anybody that can make her that happy and treats her so well is alright by me.

Penny Fuimaono

Bridesmaid

I met Penny while we were students at Brigham Young University Hawaii in Laie. We eventually worked together when she became my supervisor in student housing. I was on her staff as a resident assistant. She's helped me work through all kinds of things ever since. Shes a brilliant creative, one of the most down friends you'd ever want to have. No one got jokes like Penny or gives better advice. She has a pretty epic laugh and an inspiring sense of self. A girl is lucky to have a friend like Penny and even luckier when that friend becomes a sister.

Sergio Pereyra

Groomsman

Sergio is my own Jiminy Cricket. A real life Jiminy Cricket who works out and speaks spanish. "Serg" has always been the voice of reason, the voice of morality, the steadied call of temperance in my life. He's a doctor, a Bishop, a father and a husband. From our epic video game battles as kids, our stint as professional luau dancers to all the varied odd jobs we worked at side by side, no one has come to personify brotherly love for me like Sergio has.

Ming Williams

Bridesmaid

I met Ming while we were attending BYU Hawaii. She's one of the smartest people I know and ironically everyone in school was surprised that she would be friends with me haha We've road tripped across the United States together - We've camped in cars together - We even celebrate our birthdays together because we were born one day (and one year) apart. Currently she resides in New Zealand where she is pursuing a graduate degree in marine biology. She's my polar opposite in just about every way and one of my best friends.

Mario Pereyra

Groomsman

If you need an event coordinator or maybe some spreadsheet analysis - Mario can do all of that ... and more. There isn't anything Mario can't do - he's been given so much talent and ability that anything he touches automatically succeeds. He's a red personality, a "Type A" that gets things done. While he's great at so many technical things he's even better at being a great brother, a best friend, a husband and father. I could rely on Mario for anything ... and I do. Mario has always been there for me ... He'd do that for anyone. He's that kind of a guy. I'm so proud of the man he is. I'm even more proud of being his brother.

Tirae Scott

Bridesmaid

Tirae Scott is one of those friends everyone needs to have in their circle. She's an incomparable combination of motivation and endless optimism. Tirae is an unbelievable vocalist and a wonderful mom. She sees the bright side of every situation and the good in every person that crosses her path. I met Tirae the first week I moved to Utah. From the first impromptu Karaoke session we had in her kitchen to the day she predicted that Vic and I would be married after our second date ... being around Tirae always gives me something to look forward to.

Sam Pereyra

Groomsman

Sam's namesake is Samuel the Lamanite - a brave and bold prophet from the Book of Mormon. Those would be tough shoes to fill for anyone other than our Sam. After four rough and tumble scrappy boys, Sam was born ... our peacemaker. Sam is the kindest soul I've ever known. In all his thirty plus years of life I've never seen Sam be mean or get angry. I've never known him to lose his temper at anyone. He's a talented musician, a loving new father and husband. He's insightful and introspective. He never fails to present me with new ways of looking at people, at situations, and the world. I value his insights and opinions. I seek them out. He may be my youngest brother but he's always been much wiser than his years.

Overland Afo

Bridesmaid

Overland, known to her more familiar counterparts as "Ova", is probably the closest I'd ever get to a physical real life shoulder angel. She never fails to gasp when I say something less than flattering ... but she still laughs, more often than not while shaking her head and encouraging me to do better. Shes infamous for not sharing her food but always gives of her time, talents and deep abiding faith. I've relied on that same faith and support so many times during our friendship and while Ova and I may not see eye to eye on a lot of things - I couldn't see my bridal party without her in it.

Adam Fuentes

Groomsman

So many people talk about wanting to make the world a better place ... Adam is one of the few people I know who has dedicated so much of his life to actually doing that. With his talent and abilities - Adam could be and do anything ... and he chooses to help others. He chooses to be a friend of mine. His love for others is inspiring, I'm amazed at all the work he does for non profits all around the globe and strive to emulate his compassion in my own life. I'm grateful to have Adam as groomsman and a brother.

Caroline Ulugia

Bridesmaid

One night, well after I was settled in, lounging on the couch with a bowl of cereal watching Food Network reruns I received a text from Miss Caroline. She was asking me if I wouldn't want to get out of the house for a bit and meet some new people. Carol puts everyone at ease. It was Carol's genuine invitation and effortless friendship that got me out of the house that night - and put me in the position to meet Vic. I owe her ... for late night venting sessions, for texts that always ask how I'm doing, for drop in visits and for the initial encouraging nudge out of my comfort zone towards a love I never anticipated. Where would I be without Carol? Probably on the couch still waiting for something to happen. Get you a Carol.

Landon Sikahema

Groomsman

Football, religion, philosophy, social activism - Landon Sikahema is a certified expert in all of the above. His passion for learning, higher education and personal achievement is admirable and worth mirroring. When Landon is passionate about something ... anything ... ( Landon talking point: Ask him about Motown) He pours himself into learning everything he can about it. Sharing common ground with a friend like Landon is what makes us soul brothers. He's currently pursing a doctorate degree and is a die hard Philly fan. If I could express one thing that Landon would truly appreciate here, it would be to make a nod to his beloved Philadelphia NFL team so ... Thanks Soul Brother for everything and .... "Fly Eagles! Fly!"
