For the British among you, a great beach, for the Aussies, a fine beach. You can get the ferry from Wall St pier or the A train. Couple good bars for food and drink on the beach front
We love the comedy cellar and have been many times. You need to book in advance, but expect a good laugh and sometimes famous alumni show up!
If you haven't walked the highline, it's worth a trip. Stop for a drink on the south end up top of the Standard at the Boom Boom Room for a great view, or downstairs at The Brass Monkey for something a little more down to earth
This is an immersive theater experience at The McKittrick Hotel. You need to buy tickets in advance.
Great restaurant for lunch or dinner, one of our favs
Great little jazz bar we went when we first arrived in NYC. We also went the night we got engaged - book a table, or get there as soon as they open!
Great breakfast spot!
They have several locations across the city, but we believe the best doughnuts in town
Great area for outdoor drinks and a great vibe
Get the ferry to Rockaway beach from here
Another favorite pizza spot - it's a tiny little place, you can't book and it's a pop in for a slice and great glass of wine kind of joint
Beer pit stop for good draft beer, and craft beers to take home/back to your hotel
Good little wine bar with tapas
Awesome Szechuan Chinese restaurant, everything is pretty spicy, but SO good. if you have to wait for a table, go sit outside 'Forget me Not' bar until your table is ready
Ride a Citi bike along the Brooklyn waterfront to Brooklyn Crab (bike path the whole way). The Brooklyn Crab is a great outdoor bar/Crab shack with Cornhole and other games.
Van Brunt Stillhouse whiskey tasting - As you all know, Joe and I love a Whiskey, and this is one of our favorites, if you're heading down by the Brooklyn Crab, this spot is worth a stop in, and a tour/tasting.
Pig Beach - Another great outdoor Beer Garden/Food/Outdoor Games spot in Brooklyn.
Walk around Prospect Park - Beautiful all year around, but always buzzing with activity in the Summer.
Walk the Brooklyn Bridge - We recommend walking from Brooklyn to Manhattan then up through Chinatown and Little Italy and stop for some dumplings and canolis
It's a controversial subject, but this is probably our fav pizza spot. Order a large cheese pie (Pie is another name for a pizza!)
Our fav dive bar
Another bar we frequent
Mid range restaurant that we love with a great menu and lovely view if you can get a sit outside. Reserve for an early lunch, they won't let you sit until your whole party has arrived!
Market full of 'outposts' from various famous NYC restaurants with a good rooftop view - very touristy and busy at times
Great casual (almost dive-y) Mexican place for fajitas and a strong margarita
Good little bar that you can BYO food and dogs to, also has a Flee market on Sundays
Great Mexican food that is a bit more upscale than Pedro's
Hotel with awesome rooftop view, the crowd can be a bit pretentious, and the drinks not cheap, but it's worth it for the view
Great diner for a quiet, inexpensive, but great breakfast
Vic and Joe's local pub, you can sit our front and watch the world go by, or at the bar to watch sports - get an order of the boneless (or bone in if that's your style) buffalo wings, in our opinion, the best in town
Arguably one of the best views of the Manhattan skyline from the Promenade. The neighbourhood is also beautiful with notable residents such as Matt Damon, Emily Blunt & John Krasinski, Adam Driver and many more. This is also the Neighbourhood we called home for the first 3.5 years of living in NYC. If you're wondering around, feel free to pass by 33 Monroe Place - Our old apartment building!
Another one of our favorite dive bars. Cash Only. Pool table in the back, and karaoke on a Friday
Fun bar full of arcade games
Great bar with Pool Table and Bowling
Another bar on top of a hotel (The William Vale), good food and drinks, quite pricey, but again worth it for the view
If you haven't drunk enough, great outdoor drinking spot.
Awesome pizza spot to sit outside or in. You can't book, and there is often a line out front on weekends and after work hours. Get the bee sting pizza (not on the menu, but you can still order it!)
Fun bar with open rooftop
German beer hall with table games
Fun dive bar with skee-ball, buck hunter and a free pizza with every alcoholic beverage bought
