Throughout his life, Allen has always been deeply family-oriented and striven to plan family functions every year, As a brother, he has helped James remember to have fun and enjoy life, to live within his means, and always put family first. He constantly invites James and Savannah over for dinner and drinks, and has taught both of them how to balance work and play. If ever there were a perfect example of what a brother should be, James' brother Allen has done it best.

Elliott and James originally met at California Baptist University, during James' sophomore year, when Elliott was working as the Physics Teaching Assistant for James' Physics lab. During lab, Elliott would often read a bible passage and discuss it prior to starting the experiment and was always so transparent about his struggles and his faith. It was this transparency that sparked a life-long friendship between them, as Elliott and James began meeting weekly for discipleship. Elliott has helped James deepen his understanding of God's Word and helped him grow spiritually. As a brother in Christ, he has held James accountable and helped him overcome spiritual struggles. James is eternally grateful for his compassion and brotherly love.

Ryan Wolf

Ryan and James originally met at California Baptist University, while they were both working on their teaching credential. Being in the same cohort allowed them both ample time to know each other, and quickly find out that they shared common friends, as well as, a strong mutual faith. Throughout the student teaching process, they spent countless hours together working on the rigorous EdTPA exam and would occasionally take breaks at Heroes in Downtown Riverside to decompress. Ryan is a phenomenal friend and has often prayed for James, in moments of hardship, as well as, always been able to give great advice whenever asked of him. James is immensely grateful for his servant-like heart and infectious child-like faith.

Joe Carranza

Joe and James originally met at California Baptist University, while they were both working on their Teaching Credential. During that time, we quickly became good friends and often hung out together with our mutual friends, Ryan and Kurtis. Joe has always been very easygoing and reminded James that Christ is always in control of our situations. Throughout our friendship, Joe has modeled Christ-like humility and has always been willing to help whenever asked of him. James is so thankful for his friendship and his willingness to always hangout, have fun, and simply enjoy life together.

Kurtis Yinger

Kurtis and James originally met at California Baptist University, while they were both working on their Teaching Credential. During that time, Kurtis and James got to spend countless hours together (both inside and outside of class). Kurtis has always known how to have a good time and lighten the mood, especially during late night study sessions in the library during our student teaching process. James is thankful for his sense of humor and his friendship through all the struggles of graduate school, and he is looking forward to all the teaching stories that we will share in the future.

Solomon Tran

Solomon and James originally met at California Baptist during James' junior year of college. Solomon has been an integral part (math pun intended) of the Women's Choir at California Baptist University, over the past few years. As such, he was immediately a mutual friend between Savannah and James, since Savannah was involved in Women's Choir. Of James' groomsmen, Solomon is by far the quietest person; however, he also possesses one of the biggest hearts for people. Throughout their friendship, Solomon was always willing to sacrifice his time to help out those in need, and would often be the one of the few to laugh at all of Savannah and James' bad puns. He is such a delightful, smart, and funny friend, and our wedding today would not be the same without him here.

Candice is Savannah Flom’s sister. She and Savannah have a lot in common and love to laugh together. She is a hard worker and has a generous and thoughtful spirit. Candice and Savannah love to bond over baking, movies, and sarcasm. James and Savannah look to her and her husband as they are a great example of what it means to be married to your best friend.

Elise was Savannah’s college roommate for four years and is one of her best friends! They were in choir together, loved to decorate their apartment, go on Disneyland trips, watched a lot of Netflix with fro-yo in their hands. Savannah got to be one of Elise’s maid of honors last year and is so thankful that Elise will be part of Savannah and James’ special day.

Cassie and Savannah met in college and became quick friends! Cassie has a huge heart for Christ and others and is always there for Savannah with encouragement and comfort. Cassie and Savannah love to have long chats over coffee and tea, as well as find new places to visit! James and Savannah love to go to Cassie together for both heart-to-hearts and lots of laughs.

Gabby (Gibby) and Savannah met when they both were assigned to an international service project to Spain! During training, Gibby and Savannah became great friends, but while they were in Spain, they became familia! Gabby helped grow Savannah’s relationship with Christ and was there for her through some pretty tough times. Gabby and Savannah love adventuring together, from going to the snow, the beach, or to a concert.

Mikayla and Savannah met during Savannah’s senior year of college. They enjoyed a lot of laughs and lunch dates, and got to be co-maid of honors for their mutual friend. James and Savannah love to joke with Mikayla and have a good time. Mikayla is encouraging and thoughtful, and Savannah loves her friendship!
