One fortunate night back in late 2017, Savannah and James had their very first dance at Dancing in Riverside during one of their Swing Dancing Nights. Afterwards, the two had a platonic dinner, with their mutual friend, Keith, at the Applebee's restaurant down the street. After that dinner, James friend requested Savannah on Facebook (it's lame but true), and the two began messaging one another daily. Eventually, during winter break, James managed to get her number (finally leveling up), and the two spent an entire week where they would talk on the phone for upwards of 5-6 straight hours. This, in turn, led to a mutual flirting between them, as they both slowly started to become interested in one another. During that Christmas, after the two had followed each other on Instagram, James received a notification that Savannah had liked one of his photos (a very old one). That led to an interesting conversation, where James teased Savannah that she was stalking him. As it turns out, it wasn't Savannah that was stalking him on social media, but actually her mother (she accidentally hit the like button), who was curious who it was that Savannah was talking to so much. Afterwards, the two continued to talk for hours each day, and even had their first date at the beach, where James, as soon as Savannah got out of the car, took the initiative and the two had their very first kiss (there's a funny story here, but for another time). James and Savannah knew at this point that they both liked each other; however, James was still nervous to ask Savannah out because he thought that she was too hot for him. Fortunately, and by the grace of God, on January 7th, 2018, James asked Savannah to be his girlfriend, to which she replied, "It's about time that you asked!" Now, the two are getting married, and all because James asked a quiet and shy young lady to share a dance.
