Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. Members enter the United States by accessing the Global Entry processing technology at selected airports. Travelers must be pre-approved for the Global Entry program. All applicants undergo a rigorous background check and in-person interview before enrollment. If a traveler was unable to schedule an interview at an Enrollment Center prior to their international travel, they have an option to complete their interview via Enrollment on Arrival upon their arrival to the United States. Another upcoming processing technology option for travelers will be the Global Entry Mobile App. This app will enable members to validate their arrival to the U.S. on their iOS or Android device prior to entering the Federal Inspection Services area.
Travel Note
When charging items overseas, you'll see an option to pay in U.S. dollars or local currency. Always select local currency as it will be cheaper! Be sure to also let your card company know that you'll be traveling internationally. See which cards have foreign transaction fees and plan to use the ones without. Capital One and Chase Sapphire Prefferred don't have foreign transaction fees, but there are others, too.

To call the UK from a US cell phone, dial 011 (the US exit code), then 44 (the UK country code), followed by the UK area code (without the leading 0), and finally the 7-digit or 8-digit phone number. For mobile phones, the UK mobile code is 7, so dial 011-44-7-XXXX-XXXX. WhatsApp is a great option for calling and messaging without international data rates! Also recommend doing a daily international data plan for the time you're there. Sometimes it's as little as $10 per day to have international calling and texting while you're traveling.
