The hotel block is at Cigarral de las Mercedes. The code for the room block is veronicayroyce.
No, you don't have to stay at the hotel, but it is the only hotel we have a room block with. If you are interested in booking a different hotel, need an idea for somewhere to stay before or after the events, or want to look into an Airbnb, check out the Travel tab.
Once we're closer and understand how many people are staying at our venue vs another hotel we will provide more information about transportation.
Welcome Party: Our welcome party calls for dressy casual attire. Think sundresses, jumpsuits, matching sets for women and slacks, button-downs, and sweaters for men. Ceremony/Reception: Our ceremony and reception are Formal events. This means that tuxes or suits are perfect for men and gowns or cocktail dresses are perfect for women.
Short answer: No, don't be an asshole. The substantial answer: We are not allowing additional guests for any of our events. You'll know if you have been given the option to bring a date because your invitation will read "Your Name & Guest" and we will ask for your date's name during the RSVP process.
As much as we love our little pseudo nieces and nephews, we ask that you please make other arrangements for your little ones. However, since this is a long trip far from home, we totally understand if you want to make this a family affair and bring the little ones along for the ride. There are childcare options at the hotel, and if you are making your own arrangements or plan to bring a family member to babysit, please let Veronica & Royce know so we can help get them in our room block!
Other than the obvious, here's a few things to keep in mind when you pack: - Outlet adapter (Type C or F) - Jacket for night - Good walking shoes
You'll need to fly into Madrid's international airport. From there, you have several options! Check out the info in our Travel and Spain 101 tabs to work out what combination of planes, trains, and automobiles will work best for you.
We really appreciate you wanting to get us a gift! And as nice as the sentiment is to give it to us in person, we ask that you send any registry gifts to our address attached to the registry. This way, you don't have to lug extra baggage on your way to Spain, and we don't have to lug extra baggage with us home from Spain. If you really want to give any gifts in person, we can hang out after the wedding!
You can find the full schedule in the schedule tab of our website. The key things to know is that our wedding events begin at 6 PM on November 11th and 12th.
A huge perk of a destination wedding is that the same curfews US venues enact don't apply! That being said, there is no formal after party. Instead, we can keep the party going until Veronica AND Royce are out for the count.
Toledo has so much to offer during your down time! Check out the "Things To Do" tab for our personal recommendations. Otherwise you can contact the hotel before or during your stay for their thoughts as well.
We recommend booking your hotel as soon as possible, especially if you plan to stay at the venue to guarantee your spot. The venue is not exclusive to our wedding, so others are able to book rooms in the hotel. For flights, it's generally a good idea to book 6 months in advance (the rule of thumb is 2-8 months). This will give you a more favorable price and it's always good to check something off your To Do list. Veronica's tip: create a Google flight and Hopper alert 12 months before the wedding to start getting updates on flight availability and costs so you can track when prices drop.
Depends completely on what your overall plans are and how much you want to ball out. But to help you out, we put together the following averages: Average flight cost per person: $500 (roundtrip) Hotel: With our room block you'll spend between $500 and $800 for both nights depending on which room type you book. Travel between the venue & airport: Train tickets cost $17 and a car service could be anywhere from $70-$100.
Yes! If you choose to rent a car during your stay the hotel does have free parking for all guests. If you are staying at a different hotel, you can still drive to our venue and park for free during any of our scheduled events.
As of now, we are not planning a shuttle from the airport to the hotel or vice-versa. However, once we get closer to the wedding and have a better understanding of who flies in/out of Madrid and when we are happy to revisit this. We do know that Cigarral de las Mercedes can assist with booking cars to get to/from the airport, so speaking with them is always an option.
You will need a passport that is valid for at least 3 months after the trip. That means it cannot expire before February 12, 2027.
Yes we are more than happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions that are provided during the RSVP process. Please make sure this information is included when you RSVP so we can manage catering with the venue.
We can help you coordinate child care on site! If this is something you're interested in, get in contact with Veronica or Royce as soon as possible so we can coordinate with the venue.
All of our events will be a mix of indoor and outdoor settings. The welcome party, ceremony, and cocktail hour are outdoors, the dinner is indoors, and the reception is indoors with outdoor areas. Any part of our wedding that is primarily outdoors will have a rain plan so no one gets wet.
When you book a room at Cigarral de las Mercedes you can partake in their complimentary breakfast. There is also a restaurant and bar on site, however lunches are not included in your stay.
You can do either option, whichever you feel the most comfortable with! For a detailed breakdown of the different ways to spend money in Spain, check out our "Spain 101" tab.
It's a lot easier to exchange money before you hop your flight to Spain. We give an overview on good places to exchange money in our "Spain 101" tab. If you do want to exchange money once you get to the venue, we recommend talking to the concierge for the best place to make your exchange.
The current exchange rate changes daily, and there's no way Veronica is updating these FAQs every day. Easiest way to check this is doing a quick Google for USD to Euro exchange rate.
You can definitely extend your stay, however there are two things to note. First, you cannot extend the room block rate we have for our wedding and would need to pay the hotel's standard nightly rate. Second, Cigarral de las Mercedes specializes in multi-day events like our wedding. So, we cannot guarantee that rooms will be available before/after our events. The best way to understand your options are to contact the hotel directly by calling +34 925 252 064 or emailing info@cigarraldelasmercedes.com.
All rooms in the hotel block are optimized for 2 people, however some rooms can be adjusted for 4 people. Please contact Veronica & Royce before booking so we can coordinate with the venue. Back to the original question, you can check out pictures of each room on the hotel's website. Available rooms in our block include the Classic, Garden, Deluxe, and Lake rooms.
There is a really nice course close by (not at the venue). More information is included in our "Things To Do" tab, including information on rentals.
