Getting to Sayulita: Transportation Tips Once you arrive at the Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR), you’ll need to make your way to Sayulita, which is about a 1–1.5 hour drive north. There are a few transportation options to suit different comfort levels and budgets: 1. Private Transportation (Most Comfortable) We highly recommend booking private roundtrip transportation in advance. This option often includes a convenient stop at a large grocery or convenience store along the way, perfect for picking up essentials, drinks, or snacks for your stay. We highly recommend Sayulita VIP - they have quoted us 3500mxn roundtrip. If you need assistance in booking, please contact either me or Daniel; we're happy to help make the trip as smooth as possible for everyone! 2. Taxi or Uber (More Flexible) You can catch a taxi directly from the airport, but if you’re looking to save money, you can walk across the pedestrian bridge just outside the airport to the other side of the highway, where fares tend to be cheaper. From there, you can hail a taxi or request an Uber. This is a popular option for those traveling light and looking for a bit more flexibility. 3. Public Bus (Adventurous & Budget-Friendly) For the adventurous traveler, there’s a public bus that runs from Puerto Vallarta to Sayulita. Look for buses labeled “Sayulita” — they’re typically green and white and depart from the bus stop near the airport pedestrian bridge. Be prepared for a longer, less air-conditioned ride, but it’s a great way to experience local life and travel on a budget. No matter which option you choose, we recommend confirming your plans ahead of time, especially if you’re arriving in the evening or with a group.
