Anchored in love

We were incoming freshman about to enter our first year of undergrad at Eastern Connecticut State University! There was a FB page for the class of 2015 and on the page there was a post with a survey asking who we wanted to perform at our Spring Concert. Vernesha commented Nicki Minaj, while Avery commented T.I.! Avery started picking with Vernesha about how Nicki Minaj was a trash choice and then slid in the DM's to tell her! From there we both communicated on FB (when fb was hot back then lol) .You know that one person that would go and like every picture you posted from 1993-2020 on FB? Avery did that! (Vernesha was a little guilty too!) One day Avery was asking Vernesha to come to his dorm room to hang out! Vernesha would make so many excuses as to why she couldn't (Momma raised her right! lol ) Eventually, we finally did hang out and we officially started dating back in 2012. The rest. . . well now we're HERE!

Aside from love the Bridgeport-Port Jefferson Ferry is what connected us! With Vernesha being from Bridgeport Connecticut, and Avery being from Long Island NY many summers and holidays were spent traveling on the Ferry between Bridgeport and Long Island NY! The Ferry plays a huge role in our love story!

Avery had originally planned to make a big proposal at Cameron's first birthday party! But due to COVID he was unable to do so. So one night, it was a night! Cam was super irritable, and mom was just a little (A LOT) overwhelmed. We had finally got Cam to sleep and Vernesha just needed a mental minute! Little did she know what was going to come next with that mental minute. . . . Avery told Vernesha to close her eyes. . (They were already half way shut because Vernesha was EXHAUSTED!) Avery grabbed Vernesha's hand and told her to open her eyes. There Avery was on one knee! Vernesha was well AWAKE now! Pure happiness, she said. . I DO!
