Our Story

11.10.2021

I had just moved to Charlotte, North Carolina three months prior and Dominic, at the time, was halfway through his ER Residency. We had matched on the dating app, Hinge, and I remember I was with my mother and I showed her a picture of him that was on his profile. It was a picture of him and his little sister and it was one of the first things I noticed. For Dominic, the first thing he noticed was my name and he would tell me later how much he loved it and had never heard my name before. From there, the conversation just flowed. We talked about our families and how we liked to spend our time. When we met for our first date he walked in from one side of the restaurant and I walked in from the other side. We both had on masks since it was in the middle of the pandemic but despite that, we recognized each other immediately. The rest of the night was full of laughs, talking about our big families, religion, traveling, etc. Once we finished dinner we didn't want it to end so we went to a tapas bar right after to enjoy a drink and talk more. We both knew that something special was there. Fast forward 3.5 years later and we are nearing the end of an amazing Barcelona trip. We spent the day exploring, visiting a beautiful Spanish garden, walking the beach as the sun set with a rainbow, and finally looking out at the Gothic Quarter from our hotel's rooftop terrace. Dominic had me looking out at the scenic view then asked me to turn around. I turned around to the most amazing surprise of my lifetime.
