Our Story
Melissa and Tom met in college a little more than ten years ago at a friend's 4th of July party. Melissa needed contacts; Tom had the hook-up... the rest is history.
Their first date was hiking (why Melissa agreed to that, we'll never know) and after a few months of nonstop talking, one day at Round Valley, Tom made it official. Their shared year at FDU flew by, and Melissa moved down to the big city.
A few years of long distance later, Tom joined her in a tiny Palisades studio. The pair made a home in Virginia and found some amazing friends. Weekends were spent trying out new cideries, breweries, and wineries, and a few more hikes were snuck in along the way. Melissa even managed to get Tom out of the country for their favorite trip, exploring England.
In May of 2024, the question everyone kept asking (when are you getting engaged??) was finally answered. Tom popped the question at Raven's Roost Overlook during a long weekend in Charlottesville.
Melissa, of course, said yes.
