Travel Note
We recommend flying in to Boston-Logan Intl Airport. Salem is largely walkable. Public Transport: The MBTA public transport option will get you there in about an hour. Upon arrival to BOS, use Google Maps' public transport navigation as there are a few transfers you would have to make. Ferry: Want to take the scenic route? Consider going by ferry! https://www.cityexperiences.com/boston/city-cruises/salem-ferry/ Rideshare: If you want to go the rideshare route (uber/lyft), make sure to follow the signs to the pickup area. Sometimes, taxis are cheaper and it is worth asking them what their fare will be. To further reduce the cost of rideshare, consider taking the Logan flyer to Danvers and then getting a ride from Danvers. https://loganexpress.com Other: More tips for travel can be found at this blog: https://blog.gettransfer.com/boston-logan-airport-to-salem-ma-best-travel-options-by-car-train-bus-2/

Travel Note
We recommend you to stay in Salem on Friday and Saturday; however, if you are extending your trip beyond the weekend, then staying in Boston is a great idea! Here are some of our favorite places by neighborhood: Fenway - We love Fenway park! The Red Sox are in town Wednesday and Thursday before the wedding. - There are fun restaurants and concert venues around this area as well. Back Bay and Newbury Street - Newbury street can bring you from Fenway to the rest of town. It is the street with all of the shopping and great restaurants to go with it! - We also love walking along Commonwealth Ave as you approach Boston Common and the Public Garden. - Boston Public Library is absolutely beautiful. Make your way inside and up to the second floor. You won’t regret it! - Paul works in the Prudential Center complex. Head in there if you want to go to the top with View Boston to get stunning views of the city. Beacon Hill - This town also borders the Public Garden (which of course is a can’t miss!) - Charles street has some cute book shops and cafes. - Acorn street is one of the most picturesque in the area! - Beacon Hill borders historic downtown. There you’ll find Faneuil Hall, Quincey Market, and our personal favorite- the Sam Adams Taproom.
Travel Note
North End - Many places are cash only in this area, come prepared! - This is the Italian District. This is our favorite place to go espresso or pistachio martini hopping! We like Cafe Vittoria and Bacco. - There is great debate who has the better cannolis- Mike’s or Modern’s. A real Bostonian may argue for the 24 hour place, Bova’s. Taste test all three if you dare! - Bricco Salumeria is down an alley and has the best chicken parm sandwich you will ever eat. Charlestown - This is where the “Freedom trail” begins, which is a great way to go through all of the above-listed neighborhoods. - Emily works here in the Navy Yard and gets to hear the cannon go off at the USS Constitution every day! - Some of our favorite restaurants are here: Warren Tavern, Brewer’s Fork, and Monument. Seaport - This is the business district. Lots of great outdoor bars and restaurants. - Harpoon brewery has a fun taproom here. Trillium brewing also has a nice restaurant and taproom in this area. - Our all time favorite restaurant is Nautilus. If you want a small plates experience (and are willing to pay the price$$$) then it’s worth it.
