Things To Do around the Island
We'd love to share a few of our favorite local spots with you- the shore is everywhere in RI- this photo is from our favorite summer chill spot, Beavertail in Jamestown. But closer to home are: Bristol- w/ lovely shore views along Hope St., the harbor, & Colt State Park;, as does Island Park & the Glenn, & Sandy Point Beach in Portsmouth; 2nd Beach, Sachuest Point, Hanging Rock & Purgatory Chasm in Middletown, & all over Newport- check out Cliff Walk & Ocean Drive! Newport also has beautiful mansions to tour, & a charming downtown to shop in. Bristol has many quaint shops as well. Our favorite dining spots for date nights in Newport are: Flo's in Portsmouth & Newport- awesome seafood & views of the beach. Aiden's has great Irish food & vibes, Salvation Cafe has delicious cultural food & ambiance. 15 Point Rd. & Localz in Portsmouth have delicious everything and views of the water. Mizu in Middletown is a fabulous Japanese steakhouse and Hibachi bar. Ask Elizabeth for coupons.

Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge

This nature preserve has beautiful, easy walking trails and great bird watching, with views of the ocean. Free parking, no admission fee.
