Will you be reserving hotel blocks?

Answer

Our research into hotels and blocks for weddings showed that most people don't utilize hotel blocks and prefer to make their own plans for hotel stay, therefore we are not providing hotel blocks. Please book far enough in advance.

How do I know if I got a plus one?

Answer

The plus one will be listed on your invite. Please look at your invite for the number of guests allowed.

Are children allowed at this wedding?

Answer

Due to limited space and safety concerns, this is an adult only wedding. That being said, for the sake of full disclosure, certain exceptions have been made for children directly involved with the wedding, immediate first cousins and other pre-approved circumstances decided on by the bride and groom. So you will see those children at the wedding and reception.

If I want to come, but have children that can't come, what are my options?

Answer

You are welcome to find a babysitter within the area of Iowa City, Iowa. It is recommended that you look at Care.com for more help on this. There will not be on site babysitting provided.

Can I take photos during the wedding and reception?

Answer

Yes! We highly encourage it. However, no flash photography, as this goes against our contract with the wedding photographer.

If I have additional questions about the wedding, who should I contact?

Answer

Please contact the mother or father of the bride first.

Is this wedding dry, open bar, or cash bar?

Answer

This wedding is cash bar only. All guests purchasing alcohol will have to show a valid I.D. Underage drinking is not tolerated on the premises of the reception, despite the fact that it is a private event. Those found to be drinking underage are subject to a $200 fine per person.

Are there rules associated with the reception facility?

Answer

The only important rules for guests are: 1. No open flames or sparklers 2. No smoking is allowed outside or inside the reception space 3. No outside food or beverage (formula is okay) 4. No trailers or heavy trucks on site 5. No glitter 6. No underage consumption of alcohol (Rapid Creek Reserves the right to kick out anyone that is drinking underage and has full rights to fine the guilty party)

Answer

Cocktail attire, please! But we also want you to feel comfortable, so make the most appropriate choice for you.

How are you handling allergies and special diets?

Answer

Please make it known on your invite if you have any allergies. While we may not be able to accommodate every allergy and food preference, we will do our best to make the reception enjoyable for everyone.
