We are so excited to say that we are high school sweethearts, because we met when we were just fifteen. We can thank our schools (he went to Mid Prairie at the time, I went to Regina) for letting us participate in an Honor Choir hosted by the University of Iowa. I guess you could say that our love of music is what pushed our paths together, but it really was our love of theatre. We didn't get to know each other until we did the show "Hairspray" in 2011, right before our senior year of high school. Luckily, he transferred to City High (which was right down the street from Regina). And the rest, as they say, is history.

"Ryan originally planned on proposing on the 4th of July, one of my favorite holidays. We were supposed to go on a family trip that summer with my parents, he was supposed to go to Oregon. Our plans changed drastically (my parents had puppies), and my brother and I decided to go to Florida. Disney World was the goal, and Ryan joined. On the first day, we did a ton. But that night, Ryan was determined to go to the fireworks in front of Cinderella's castle. I joked that we didn't have to do them on the first night and we could wait until later in the week. Both my brother and Ryan said "No." Ryan said he needed to go to the bathroom before the fireworks, but he was gone for a really long time (30 to 40 minutes...he was looking for someone to take pictures, but no one takes pictures during the fireworks). We finally settled into a spot in the middle of the open space. He gave his "speech" and got down on one knee. My brother filmed it, not so discretely if I do say so myself. But I was super happy and surprised." - Vicky
