981 days later…

We first met at work in August of 2019 when Emily was hired onto the sales team. When Emily was being introduced to her new coworkers, she remembers shaking Kaleb’s hand and feeling like something was telling her to get to know him. This intuition would lead her to make the first move a month later at a coworker’s birthday dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings (shout out to Brandon!) where she walked around the entire 12’ table to sit next to Kaleb. We ended up talking for the next 4 hours, and Kaleb said he was 100% himself, because one of our coworkers told him Emily wasn’t looking to date anyone. Emily said it felt like no one else was in the room! She didn’t even get up to use the restroom, because she didn’t want anyone else talking to him hahaha. Emily called her mom on her way home to tell her that she met her husband. Mom’s response? “Ok.. call me when you get the first date lol!” (Ok mom, that was probably reasonable ..but was I wrong?) Kaleb also called his mom and sister to tell them about Emily and how she really liked him exactly the way he was. A week later, with the match making help of some coworkers, we had our first date! Kinda.. Kaleb was moving to Zanesville that weekend, so Emily drove from Columbus to help him pack! That’s the same thing right? After packing for a couple hours, we sat and talked until nearly 6 in the morning, when we realized how much time had passed. And the rest is history! We had different views on marriage when we first started dating, but that quickly changed. Kaleb ended up buying Emily’s engagement ring after just 6 weeks of dating and proposed on our dual birthday trip to Amish Country in February 2020! Our connection and constant communication with each other helped us quickly build a solid foundation for a long lasting relationship, and that foundation has only strengthened during the last two and a half years through the pandemic. We’re so excited to FINALLY be getting married, and we can’t wait to celebrate with all of our friends and family!!
