Through the weirdest twists and divine coincidences they both ended up participating in Theos Nights, a theology 'club' held weekly on Zoom. Paula had followed Matty's meme page months prior and when she realized that was him, the guy with obscure Biblical Hebrew knowledge, interest peaked. She shared some memes on her IG story and he took his shot and began with "I see you follow my meme page." // Por obra y gracia divina Paula y Matthew terminaron en la misma clase virtual de teología (Matt siendo el profesor por supuesto). Se gustaron, hubo atracción notoria. Se siguieron en instagram. Paula encontró los memes que hacía Matt y le parecieron divertidísimos. Compartió unos en sus historias de instagram y Matt aprovechó para escribirle "veo que te gustan mis memes".
After their conversation intensified and they confessed to each other their desire to be together, Paula's immediate family voiced their concerns about the in person chemistry. "What if you don't like what he smells like? What if he's really short? What if you just don't like him in person?" were some questions her mom asked her. Thankfully, Paula does like Matty's smell. She also almost caused a car wreck after picking him up from the airport because his eyes were too distracting. After months of planning Matty got ready to propose while on a seminary trip to England. He had consulted with his mom and Paula's mom and dad to design the ring, asked advice from friends in common and picked a spot that wasn't too obvious but still quite romantic. He dragged Paula and friends to a "Riverside Walk" that didn't end up happening because Paula was too busy looking at old frescos in the Cathedral's treasury. And then he proceeded to drag her to Pull's Ferry, while she insisted that they should take the other road if they wanted to get to the restaurant on time. He pretended to fall then, almost giving Paula a panic attack as she foresaw the trip with Matt in a wheelchair. He gave her his medication bottle to open and she fumbled with it as she wondered why none of their friends were offering assistance. When she saw the ring inside the bottle and realized it was a proposal she was elated that he was okay and that she'd get to spend the rest of her life with him. So much so she fell to the ground laughing and crying. // Después de meses de estar juntos y varios viajes por parte y parte, Matt se preparó para pedirle la mano a Paula. Habló con Ricardo su futuro suegro, consultó amigas y familia para diseñar un anillo para Paula. Aura Lucía la futura suegra consiguió a escondidas la medida del anillo. En un viaje a Inglaterra con amigos y compañeros de trabajo Matt sacó a Paula a hacer una caminata por el río. Luego pretendió caerse y a Paula casi le da un infarto pensando en que iba a tener que usar una silla de ruedas el resto del viaje. Matt le pasó a Paula una botella de medicamentos para que le diera uno para el dolor, y cuando Paula la abrió y vio el anillo ahí metido y a Matt como arrodillado y a los amigos tomando fotos entendió que era todo para pedirle matrimonio. Exultante de que Matt estaba bien y que iban a estar juntos el resto de sus vidas ella sí se cayó al piso de júbilo.
