Ryan: A stroke of luck. Vanessa: We met through a dating website, Plenty of Fish. I was vegetarian, so Ryan treated me to a unique, vegetarian dinner in Dupont Circle. We giggled, compared tattoos, then made our way to a G. Love concert at the 9:30 club. We both agreed that we were not looking for a relationship, but someone to have adventures with. Within a week, we were spending every waking second together and creating our own adventures.
Ryan: While I was helping Judy in her front garden, I asked for her daughter's hand in marriage. I was more excited than nervous to pop the question. I had known for awhile that I was going to propose, but it was just a matter of the right time. I forgot to say the Spanish translation of "My love forever." Vanessa: Ryan and I were on vacation in LBI for several days. He led me down to the bay onto a private dock. After observing the sun starting to go down, Ryan lifted me up from the bench, hugged me, then got down on one knee. I did not believe that he was actually proposing! The night was filled with random bursts of joyful tears and disbelief that soon enough, I will be able to call Ryan my husband.
