I first laid eyes on Vanessa at work, and everything about her drew me in. It all began during our weekly company meetings when I noticed a beautiful woman sitting near me—Vanessa. Even though she caught my attention, I had to "play it cool." From that moment on, I made sure to wear my best clothes to those meetings in hopes of getting her attention, and it worked. Occasionally, I would catch her glancing at me. I also learned from her boss that she was a die-hard Cowboys fan, which made her even more appealing and gave me an excuse to strike up a conversation. As time passed, I hesitated to make a move until I found out she was single, which happened just before Valentine's Day in 2023. I contemplated sending her flowers for the occasion. I confided in my mother, who advised me, "What’s the worst that can happen?" To that, I nervously thought, "I could get reported to HR and lose my job." Nevertheless, I took the plunge and sent her flowers anonymously with a note that read, "Every beautiful lady deserves flowers, 'just because,' but especially on Valentine’s Day - :)" It took a couple of weeks for my nerves to settle before I finally decided to text her, revealing that I was the one who sent the flowers and asking her out to dinner. To my delight, she accepted. Surprisingly, she almost stood me up for our first date, but ultimately decided to grace me with her presence, which made me incredibly nervous to the point of sweating. However, once we sat down, our conversation flowed wonderfully. What truly stood out to me was one of her sayings—I had never heard anyone else say it before, other than me. This made me think she could be someone special. I mean, anyone who thinks like me must be amazing, right? Everything went well, and she agreed to another date, which blossomed into something amazing. Here we are today, as happy as can be and ready to get married.
