Travel Note

If you are flying from Houston...

There are unfortunately no direct flights from Houston to South Bend. There are flights from Bush International and Hobby to South Bend that have a layover (typically the layover is in Atlanta, Dallas, or Chicago). Alternatively, you can fly direct from Houston to Chicago and rent a car. It's not a short drive (around 2.5 hours depending on traffic) but will probably cheaper than flying to South Bend. The most affordable Houston-->SB flights are likely on Southwest Airlines flying Hobby-->Midway. Chicago has two airports - O'Hare and Midway. Midway is closer to South Bend and you also avoid driving through Chicago (you would have to drive through the city if you fly into O'Hare). Be sure to factor in Chicago traffic into your timing should you decide to rent a car.
