The Old Croton Aqueduct is a slight walk from the property and offers breathtaking views of the Hudson valley region while walking or jogging. Year round, an indoor pool with fitness center, racquetball court, sauna and Jacuzzi offer plenty of downtime.

Washington Irving's Sunnyside

Scenic Hudson RiverWalk Park at Tarrytown
Scenic Hudson partnered with the village, county and developer Natural RE/sources to turn this longtime industrial site into a waterfront park offering magnificent views stretching from the Manhattan skyline to the Tappan Zee Bridge. Features include a 0.6-mile riverside esplanade, a series of grass terraces and lawns, and an "eco-corridor" filled with native plants. A segment of the planned 51-mile Westchester County RiverWalk, the park is adjacent to Tarrytown's Pierson Park.
Sleepy Hollow Lighthouse
Sleepy Hollow Lighthouse (aka Tarrytown Lighthouse and Kingsland Point Lighthouse), 299 Palmer Avenue, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591. 914-366-5109. This light was once a half-mile off shore, warning ships away from dangerous shoals on the east side of the Hudson River. Years of landfill by a now-demolished General Motors factory moved the shoreline within a few feet of the light. The cast iron tower was installed in 1883. Over its 78 years of operation, 12 light keepers and their families occupied the five-story structure. The light was automated in the mid 1950s, and operated until 1961 when navigation lights on the Tappan Zee Bridge rendered it obsolete.

Kykuit, the Rockefeller Estate

Rockefeller, visitors can now tour the well-preserved mansion's lush gardens and main rooms of the six-story house. Now a historic site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Kykuit has been meticulously maintained for more than a century. There are five types of tours available to learn all about the lives and stories of the Rockefeller family and their contributions to the arts and philanthropies.

West Point Academy
Founded over two centuries ago in 1802, The United States Military Academy at West Point, is a well-known four-year academic and training institution in the Hudson Valley. Their main goal is to shape each student into becoming a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of Duty, Honor, and Country for a career in the US Army. Cadets will endure vigorous training that will provide all the tools needed for a successful leader. All graduates earn their Bachelor of Science degrees and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the United States Army.
Philipsburg Manor
Pay a visit to this 18th century working farm for a glimpse of what life was more than two centuries ago. Take a guided tour through Philipsburg Manor, a thriving farming, milling, and trading center owned by the Philips', and participate in hands-on activities of colonial life to learn all about the tales of slavery and resistance in the Colonial North. Wander along a picturesque woodland path, step into the working gristmill, work on a live farm, and tour the 300-year old house as you step back into 1750. Philipsburg Manor is also the meeting place for Kykuit tours at the Rockefeller Estate.
