FAQs

Have some questions about the logistics of our wedding day? We are happy to help!
Question

What are the current COVID-19 protocols?

Answer

Our venue has developed sanitation and safety procedures and will remain in alignment with current local regulations and requirements regarding COVID-19. Currently, masks are required in all indoor spaces for any vaccinated or unvaccinated patrons in the District of Columbia. Effective February 15, 2022, the District of Columbia is requiring proof of full vaccination for patrons of all restaurant and event venues, including District Winery. As local and venue guidelines and requirements change, we will keep our guests apprised of all current COVID-19 policies. As a reminder, ALL guests are required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test two to three days before the wedding.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code is Formal. Ladies can opt to wear either gowns or cocktail dresses and men are welcome to wear suits, or slacks and jacket combo.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony is scheduled to start at 6:00pm. Please plan to arrive a few minutes before 6 if you want to be seated by the time the ceremony begins. If you are a local guest driving in, rather than staying at one of the conveniently located hotels listed under our "Accomodations" page, we suggest you allow for extra commuting time to find parking, check your coat, and get situated before the event begins.

Question

Where should I park the day of the wedding?

Answer

If you plan to drive, there is a paid, ground-level lot located adjacent to District Winery on 4th Street, SE. There are also several paid parking lots located near the Nationals Stadium, which are all within walking distance of District Winery. Street parking may be difficult to find and guests should be mindful of parking hours/restrictions if opting to park street-side (we recommend a lot instead!). While most parking lots and garages take card, please plan to bring cash just in case!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

While its tough to predict the weather these days, temperatures in DC in late February typically fall between 27°F (-3°C) and 47°F (8°C). While the event will be fully indoors, plan to dress warmly in case you wish to step out on the rooftop terrace during the reception to take in the waterfront views! There will be a free coat check available at the venue so you don't have to keep track of your winter gear while you're getting down on the dance floor.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After we finish our vows, we will welcome guests to the mezzanine level of the venue to enjoy a cocktail hour featuring open bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, and charcuterie. You'll be directed back upstairs for the reception when it's time for dinner and dancing.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. We appreciate your understanding!

Question

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

Question

Will transportation be provided between to/from the hotel?

Answer

We have not arranged for transportation to and from hotels. However, there are several hotels within 2 miles of the wedding venue - a few just a quick 4 minute walk away! If you choose to stay at a hotel that is a bit too far for walking, you can access the venue via the Metro (Navy Yard/Ballpark - Green line) or grab an Uber/Lyft. If you have any specific questions about how to get to the venue, feel free to reach out to us!

Question

Will there be any special diet options?

Answer

We are doing our best to select a variety of menu items that will best accommodate our guests' dietary restrictions. If you have any severe allergies, please note this in your RSVP (or to Rob or Valerie directly) so we can alert the chef.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We kindly request that you RSVP no later than January 11, 2022 so we can finalize the event details with our venue. Thank you in advance!

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

We have a Registry page on the wedding website, but please don't feel like you have to get something that's on the registry list.

Question

Are there other wedding events I’m invited to?

Answer

Everyone is invited to join us after the reception for an after party at Bluejacket, just a block away from the venue. Check out our "Schedule" page which will be updated with additional details as the event date approaches.

Question

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes, all rooms are ADA compliant with wheelchair access and our venue has an elevator.
