Question

When and where is the wedding?

Answer

Our wedding will be on August 8th, 2026 at Shinnyville Hill in Owensville, IN. Both the ceremony and reception will be at this location. The ceremony will be held outdoors with the reception to follow indoors. See the Schedule tab for more information!

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We ask that all guests RSVP by July 8th, 2026. This allows us to plan accordingly with vendors so that we can party accordingly on August 8th!

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before to park and make your way to your seats. When you arrive, there will be a large parking lot with a few friendly faces pointing you in the right direction!

What should I wear?

Answer

We kindly ask guests to dress in semi-formal attire. Think polished and comfortable— slacks, dress shirts, cocktail dresses, or dressy jumpsuits are all great choices. Ties and jackets are welcome but optional. Be mindful that the ceremony will take place outdoors. More than anything, we want you to feel confident and enjoy celebrating with us!

What about kids and plus ones?

Answer

Due to limited space, we can only accommodate guests who are formally invited. Your invitation will specify those in your party who are invited and we ask that only those are in attendance. We appreciate your understanding on this!

What about gifts?

Answer

We are registered directly on our wedding website- see the registry tab just a few tabs over! You will find items from the Zola Registry, as well as Target, Lowes, and a few other places. For the items from Zola itself, you will automatically be prompted to ship them to us, however you can ship them to yourselves and gift in person. Otherwise, please send gifts to the address listed in the Registry tab. And if you plan on writing out a check please make it out to either Noah Pettyjohn or Valerie Shaffer for ease in depositing the check.

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

No. We will not be serving alcohol at our wedding. In addition, per our contract with the venue, alcohol is not permitted anywhere on the premises. We truly appreciate your understanding and are so excited to celebrate with you!

Can I post photos?

Answer

We would LOVE to see all your photos from the night all over our social media pages. However, we kindly ask that no photos of the bride and groom are shared until after we share our favorites. When posting, please use #operationfuturepettyjohn so that we are sure to see them all! Also, feel free to send any pictures our way, we'd love to see you all's POV of our special day!
