To get to Lake Como, most guests will fly into Milan and either train, bus, or drive up. We highly recommend staying in Bellagio as all of our events will either be in Bellagio or will leave from Bellagio by ferry. There are a lot of hotel options to choose from in Bellagio and a range of tiers. Please book as soon as possible as it will be high travel season.

Flight

Flying into Milan

There are two main airports in Milan: Malpensa and Linate. Malpensa is the larger international airport that most guests will fly into. Linate is a smaller domestic airport. Both will work perfectly fine for getting to Lake Como.

Train

Trains & Buses from Airports to Bellagio

Traveling by train and public transportation to Bellagio will take ~2 hours depending on where you're coming from. Please see details here on how to take public transportation via train or bus from either Malpensa or Linate to Bellagio. You can also take trains from the downtown Milano Centrale station. Note: Many routes go through Varenna, which is a beautiful historical town on the eastern coast of Lake Como. You will need to take a ~15 minute ferry to Bellagio that typically departs hourly.

Rental Car

Rental Cars

The drive up to lake Como is also quite enjoyable and takes ~1:15 hours. Most hotels have parking, but the nightly rates can be somewhat expensive. There are a number of rental car agencies you can book from both airports (Malpensa and Linate) as well as from downtown Milan (near the Milan Centrale Station is best). You can rent from both international car rental agencies or local Italian ones, we've done both and they are great. FYI - Many cars on offer will be manual, make sure to check if you want an automatic.
