We met competing at a cross country meet back in 2014 at Whitney, TX. We got introduced by his brother and from our love of running it created an everlasting bond. As our friendship continued to grow throughout the years we got really close but little did we know that it would grow into something more.

Nos conocimos compitiendo en una carrera de campo traviesa en 2014 en Whitney, Texas. Nos presentó su hermano y, gracias a nuestra pasión por correr, se creó un vínculo duradero. A medida que nuestra amistad fue creciendo con los años, nos hicimos muy cercanos, pero no sabíamos que se convertiría en algo más.

It all began while we were eating lunch together just like any other day. I noticed that he seemed a little nervous but he told me he needed to tell me something. I knew something was bothering him but I didn’t know what to expect at the time. He proceeded to say that he’s been patiently waiting for the right time to say this to me. He told me that he’s always loved me and that he’s in love with me. He wanted to get this off his chest since he would be leaving to start college soon and wanted to let me know how he felt. I was completely shocked but I know that God had answered my prayers. I had taken a lot of time to myself during that time to heal and was finally ready to open my heart to someone. I always wanted a best friend as my lifelong partner and I never thought that he would be standing in front of me the whole time. After I decided to give him a chance the rest is history. 🤍

Todo empezó mientras almorzábamos juntos, como cualquier otro día. Noté que parecía un poco nervioso, pero me dijo que necesitaba decirme algo. Sabía que algo le preocupaba, pero no sabía qué esperar en ese momento. Me dijo que había estado esperando pacientemente el momento adecuado para decírmelo. Me dijo que siempre me ha amado y que está enamorado de mí. Quería desahogarse, ya que pronto empezaría la universidad, y quería contarme cómo se sentía. Me quedé en shock, pero sé que Dios había respondido a mis oraciones. Me había tomado mucho tiempo para mí durante ese tiempo para sanar y finalmente estaba lista para abrirle mi corazón a alguien. Siempre quise un mejor amigo como compañero para toda la vida y nunca pensé que estaría frente a mí todo el tiempo. Después de que decidí darle una oportunidad, el resto es historia. 🤍
