Yes — you will need a valid passport to travel to Greece. Please make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your travel dates, just to be safe. Good news: for U.S. travelers, no visa is required for short tourist trips to Greece. A new European travel authorization system is expected to launch after our wedding date, so for our September 21 celebration, a passport is all you’ll need. We recommend checking your passport expiration date now and renewing early if needed!
Most phones will work in Greece, but we recommend checking with your mobile carrier before you travel to understand coverage and any international charges. For example, AT&T does work in Greece, but international roaming fees may apply unless you have an international plan. Many guests choose to add a temporary international plan or use Wi-Fi when available. Be sure to check your settings and options ahead of time so you can stay connected stress-free!
The wedding is on Monday, September 21, we recommend you plan your arrival no later than the morning of the ceremony. If you’re part of the wedding party, keep an eye out — we’ll be sending details soon for a rehearsal gathering on Sunday night, September 20.
The wedding dress code is Mediterranean Chic! Our venue is a beautiful hotel overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, with an outdoor terrace, so we recommend outfits that are comfortable for an outdoor celebration. The weather in Mykonos in September is generally warm, with highs in the 70s°F, but evenings can get a little cooler. We suggest bringing a light layer or wrap to stay comfortable as the sun sets. Mykonos International Airport (JMK). While most guests fly into Mykonos Airport, you can also reach the island by ferry from several locations in Greece, including Athens (Piraeus or Rafina ports) and other nearby islands. Ferry rides can be a scenic and relaxing way to arrive, especially if you want to enjoy views of the Aegean Sea along the way. Keep in mind that ferries take longer than flying, so plan your travel time accordingly. There are taxis and Ubers available to take you between the airport and your hotel or Airbnb. Keep in mind that taxis are limited on the island (only about 30), while Ubers are more readily available. Ubers can be on the pricier side (€40–60 depending on your hotel), so we recommend ride-sharing when possible. For those planning their stay, our wedding venue is at Elia Beach, it is a bit removed from the main part of the island. The area is known for its relaxed, peaceful atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy yourselves. Greece uses the Euro (€), so you’ll want some Euros on hand for most purchases. Don’t worry — many places in Mykonos, like hotels, restaurants, and shops, accept major credit cards. It’s still a good idea to carry a little cash for tips, small shops, or local markets. A few travel tips to make things easier: Let your bank and credit card companies know you’ll be traveling so your cards work smoothly. Order some Euros in advance from your bank so you have cash ready when you arrive. ATMs are everywhere, so you can always grab more Euros if you need them!

We’ll be organizing transportation to and from the wedding, so we’ll kindly ask that you share with us where you’re staying.
