Things To Do
The best way to enjoy Mar del Plata is by walking and soaking in the ocean breeze! There is lots of interesting architecture and heritage buildings.
The city has good skateboarding, running, and boasts many sandy beaches which are great for swimming/supping/surfing/wind surfing. You can rent surfboards/SUPs from most of the beaches. There are two main beaches within walking distance from where we recommend you stay, Playa Varese and Playa Grande. Further south there are private beaches, which also offer great surfing and excellent night parties. To access these beaches, you need to have a spot rented. We are likely going to rent a spot and will fill everyone in on the details later.
There is excellent nightlife with many great bars. If you are keen to party until sunrise, the best place to do so is the bars at Playa Grande.
Climbing: There is some cragging at Balcarce, 45 mins north of MDQ. However, the best climbing is in Patagonia.
