FAQs

The Wedding Website of Vaish Pochincherla and Yancie Centeno Hernandez
A Few Things Before the Adventure Everything you need to feel at home, prepared, and ready to celebrate with us all weekend long.
Question

What are the hotel accommodations?

Answer

We are incredibly appreciative of all our guests traveling from far away, so we're providing accommodations for our non-local friends and family. We've reserved four large houses at Rock Spring Mountain Farm where our guests can stay. Each house has a pool, and all of our wedding events will take place right on the property. Specific lodging and house assignments will be shared directly with guests. We look forward to hosting you!

Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

Richmond International Airport (RIC) is approximately 1–1½ hours from Rock Spring Mountain Farm. Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is approximately 2½ hours away. Vaish & Yancie live about 20 minutes from Dulles and are happy to host guests arriving early or staying later. Please let us know in advance. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is also approximately 2½ hours from the venue.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

For the wedding and reception, Indian or Western attire is welcome. Think cocktail attire or Indian formalwear. For the other weekend festivities: Thursday Welcome/Wine Event: Casual Henna Ceremony: Indian attire Saturday Pool Party: Casual + swimwear Sunday Shenandoah Valley hike: comfort + athletic We'll share any additional event-specific guidance as plans are finalized.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Absolutely! Kids are welcome at our wedding. For younger children, please bring any Pack 'n Play, bedding, or other sleep essentials they may need, as we won't have enough available at the property for every family. Please let us know in advance how many children will be joining you. Each house on the property has a pool, so please bring any water-safety items your children may need. If you'd prefer lodging without direct pool access, please let us know so we can discuss available options.

Question

Will childcare be available?

Answer

We're working to provide childcare during the reception through a local teacher who offers childcare services. We'll share additional information about childcare arrangements as we get closer to the wedding.

Question

What kind of food will be served?

Answer

Our wedding dinner will feature a primarily vegetarian menu. We'll also ask about dietary restrictions through our RSVP so we can plan accordingly.

Question

Will there be a shuttle?

Answer

We will not have formal shuttle service during the weekend. Many guests will have cars, and we're happy to help coordinate rides if needed.

Question

Is there parking?

Answer

Yes! There is plenty of parking available at each house at Rock Spring Mountain Farm. Our wedding events will also take place on the property, so you won't need to travel to a separate ceremony or reception venue once you're settled in.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Early September in Virginia is typically warm, with daytime temperatures that can reach into the 80s and cooler mornings and evenings—great weather for enjoying the pools. Rain is always possible, so we recommend checking the forecast before traveling and packing a light rain jacket just in case.

Question

What happens if it rains?

Answer

Our reception area will be covered in the event of rain. The wedding ceremony is currently planned outdoors, and we'll share any weather-related updates with guests as the weekend approaches.

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Definitely bring your swimsuit! We also recommend: Sunscreen A light rain jacket Comfortable clothes for the weekend Comfortable walking or hiking shoes if you'd like to explore Indian attire for the Henna ceremony Any water-safety items your children may need Pack 'n Play/bedding for young children, if applicable Towels and other basic household items will be available at the houses.

Question

What is there to do nearby?

Answer

Plenty! Charlottesville is about 30 minutes away, Virginia wine country is approximately 20 minutes away, and you'll also be near Shenandoah National Park and Fortune's Cove Preserve. Visit our Things to Do page for more ideas.

Question

Do we need to bring a gift?

Answer

Absolutely not. We know many of you are traveling to spend this weekend with us, and having you there to celebrate is more than enough. For those who would still like to give, we'll have an optional honeymoon fund available through our Registry page.
