In April of 2018 Ross and Emily were working and living hours away from each other. Emily was in Arlington and Ross was in Virginia Beach. One weekend Ross travelled to DC to visit Ben Denton and have a weekend out. That Friday Emily had a girls night out with Kiersten. Separately, Ross and Emily started their nights at the same bar. Gypsy Sallys was a small bar known for its live music. The future Bride and Groom were at the same bar in the same room and never saw each other once. Gypsy Sallys was too crowded and Emily left before they ever got a chance to meet. Emily was off to another bar with good live music, Georgetown Piano bar. Luckily, Ross and Ben had a planned bar crawl that night and their next bar on the list was Georgetown Piano bar. Ross walked into Georgetown piano bar and ordered a drink. While at the bar he spotted a very cute brunette, just his type, sitting across the bar. Emily and Ross had finally spotted each other. Ross leaned to Ben, pointed out the girls on the other side of the bar and said “Dibs on the one on the right.” Ben agreed to play a game called “Have you met Ross?” The two of them walked over to the girls, Ben tapped on Emilys shoulder and asked her “Have you met my friend Ross?” Emily said she had not met him, obviously, and the two were finally introduced. Instantly Ross and Emily had a connection. Neither one moved from their seats at the bar as they talked like no one else was in the room. The night took them to one more bar, Ri Ra Irish pub. It was a quieter place where they continued to get to know each other and shared their first kiss. The night ended for the future couple at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. There they walked, talked, exchanged phone numbers, and agreed to see each other the next day. That weekend Ross and Emily were able to squeeze in three dates before Ross left to go back home. One weekend, three dates, and their fates were sealed. Four years later and we are happy you can join us for our wedding.
