The Beginning

You know when you meet someone that you know is going to be special? It feels easy - like you've met them a hundred times before. You don't leave wondering if you said the right things or hoping that your relationship continues to grow - you just kind of know that this is part of what the Universe had in store for you. When we met, it felt just like that - familiar, cozy, and like it was the start of the next chapter of our lives. We got to know each other on a cold Friday in February at a local bar where the wine and conversation kept flowing. 12 hours later, we find ourselves on our second date at a local sushi spot we both happened to love. 16 hours after that, Chris is stopping by Jessy's apartment "just to say hi". And we continued seeing each other every single day since February 11, 2022, and never looked back.

The Proposal

Chris somehow pulled off the best surprise of all time. There were plenty of moments when Jessy swore it was happening - but the one time it never even crossed her mind was the day he actually asked. It was a typical July Saturday for us: sunshine, a pool day with friends, and a “last-minute” plan to grab dinner as part of our ongoing “Cucumber Martini & Lobster Roll” tour (VERY serious). Nothing out of the ordinary. We sat by the water for dinner, the sun setting over the docks, and everything felt easy. Chris was a little quieter than usual, but Jessy didn’t think much of it. In hindsight, she probably should have. She was once again giving him ideas for how he could propose “when he’s ready,” while he nodded along with the ring already in his pocket. After dinner, Chris suggested a walk by the water. We were chatting, laughing, and taking in the view when he stopped and said, “This is a pretty spot, want to take a picture?” He set up his phone on a flag post and started a video, and Jessy, still completely clueless, told him to smile. And then he stepped back, got down on one knee, and asked the easiest question in the world. The rest was a blur of tears, laughter, and a sprinkle of hyperventilating. What started as an ordinary summer night turned into the best one yet - the beginning of our forever!
