It all began on a fine November Sunday morning in Jacksonville Beach, FL, where Alex was scheduled to play a round of golf with his housemate at the time, Tony Grillo, and two others. That morning, the other two players both backed out of playing after a long night out in Jax Beach so Tony invited some other golf buddies to play. After the round, one of those friends (Colin Monagle) invited us to a local Sunday brunch favorite, Mellow Mushroom to watch some football. Colin had some friends meeting him there so we decided to join. Alex loves a good breakfast pizza and bottomless mimosas. This is where our paths merged together to become one. Katie happened to be one of Colin's friends and she quickly became enamored with Alex. As an avid Packers fan and luckily for Alex, the Steelers were on a bye week so he wasn't wearing any Steelers gear, or else Katie swears that she wouldn't have fallen in love with him at first sight. To no surprise, Alex was pretty shy around Katie, but once Katie made the move to break the ice, we went on to have the best Sunday brunch day ever! We have been inseparable ever since that day. As we look back over the last 5 years, we couldn't be more grateful for the life that we have built together and we have had a TON of fun along the way. There have been no dull moments from road trips to South Bend to see her family, holiday trips back to California to see his family, music festivals, sporting events, teaching Katie to play golf, Bender soccer, USA soccer party bus trips, getting engaged in Hilton Head, and so much more. As a sports couple, we spend a lot of our time supporting our favorite teams: Packers (Katie), Steelers (Alex), Notre Dame Irish, Kansas Jayhawks, and others. Speaking of our family, we are the proud parents of our first son, Koiyer Nix Williams. We welcomed Koiyer into the world on May 16, 2022, and that will always go down as one of the best days of our lives. He will be just over 5 months old at the wedding and we can't wait for everyone to meet him. We are also the proud dog parents of our two Goldendoodles, Hershey and Kali, who both bring such joy into our lives. Hershey is a bit shy at first, but so caring and gentle, while Kali is our wild one who keeps us on our toes at all times. Also, many of you got to know her and we will never forget our first Goldendoodle, Jordy. Jordy was nothing short of spectacular and an incredible friend. She came into our lives at the perfect time and eventually was the best big sister for Hershey when we first rescued Hershey from her prior family. We lost Jordy way too soon back in 2020 a week short of her 2nd birthday, due to wild circumstances, and she will forever be in our hearts and memories. RIP Jordy. We have spent the last 5 years together with so many of our family and friends involved along the way. We can't wait to celebrate this special day with all of you on October 22, 2022!
