Sports. That's what brought us together. If it wasn't for Real Madrid and the New Orleans Saints, we probably wouldn't have crossed paths let alone have fallen in love. Nevada Smith's was the location, and Superbowl XLVIII was the start of our story. The game was crap, but we were the real winners!
It's what brought us together, and has remained a focal point of our relationship in addition to globe trotting around the world. While dating, we discovered our shared love of American football, European football, horse racing, baseball, sailing, snorkeling, zip lining, and most importantly pool! Regardless of where we are in the world, we have no qualms traveling miles in search of venues showing our favorite teams or to find a pool table. It's always an adventure. I kid you not, try finding the Saints game while deep in the heart of Patriots territory or abroad!
We decided to turn a Marven family 70th birthday celebration into a mini european tour. Flights were convenient, cheap, and direct so Paris won! First London to visit friends, where Lucinda received the worst manicure in history!! Then Cambridge, the birthplace of Linda and Hamish McArthur's relationship, and concluding the UK tour in the lovely coastal village of Sutton on Sea. Next stop Paris! We spent the day meandering through the Luxemburg Gardens, High-line Park, strolling the banks of the river Seine, and to top it off we even snuck in a soccer game and pool match! We concluded our perfect day with a visit to our favorite restaurant Le Bouclard. Jacquline, the hostess, recognized us instantly and escorted us to our regular table where we shared a wonderful meal. The weird thing was, Christian kept mumbling that we were going to be late. "Beats me" I thought. After the departure of our noisy neighbors which were the source of Christian's mumbling, and at the stroke of midnight; champagne appears, Somewhere Over the Rainbow starts playing on the radio, and Christian is down on one knee.
It's kizmit in a way. We have two "I met you" days, and surprisingly we have two engagement dates. With the bulk of both our families in Europe, it made sense to keep the trend and have two weddings! Though Zola says they will do anything for love, unfortunately they cannot add a second location and date to the website. We will also host a wedding on September 15th, 2018 at the Wolkenburg in Cologne, Germany. Please visit www.lovemagiccologne.com for details.
