West Glacier National Park
Enjoy breathtaking views, Montana wildlife or a hike at gorgeous Glacier National Park! The very popular Going-to-the-Sun Road will be open at this time. Take it from me, if you have not seen it yet, you are missing out. It is a bit of a drive to get to West Glacier and a little longer to drive up the road, but it's worth it.
Jewel Basin
Brittany prefers Jewel Basin hikes to Glacier hikes. Jewel Basin has a nice group of hiking trails because most of the elevation increase is done by car. Definitely plan to spend a few hours on a trail as there are no quick overlook trails. It is very beautiful up there, and last time I was up I came face-to-face with some mountain goats.
Downtown Lakeside
Lakeside is the closest town to Brittany's house. There are a few local shops, including a place to rent paddle boards and kayaks. There is also a park leading up to the beach perfect for swimming. Don't forget to bring swim trunks!
Downtown Big Fork
Big Fork is a small town on the Flathead Lake, but is very accommodating to tourists. Its full of a plethora of small shops including Sweet Peaks ice cream shop. Hotels, lodges, and airbnbs will be available in Big Fork.
Tamarack Brewing Company
If you are spending dinner in Lakeside, Tamarack is the place to be. They provide local beers and great food. Everything on the menu is recommended. Enjoy!
