We met at a campus recreation professionals conference in Denver, CO! Kristina was finishing up at the University of Nebraska while working as Group Fitness Manager while Tyler was a Health and Wellness Intern at East Carolina University. After spending a great deal of time "in the friend zone", Tyler finally made the move that we were both waiting for, and we began dating in November of 2019. After living through several professional changes, moves, and a worldwide pandemic, we got engaged in May of 2021!

Tyler set the stage as a celebration for Kristina and himself both being in Nashville full-time. He planned a dinner and built the excitement around a surprise location. I had planned my outfit all week but the unseasonably cold day forced me to pick a different one last minute. On the way to dinner Tyler started acting funny. He was on his phone a lot and being a bit short with his answers. He also gave the Uber driver an odd drop off spot. When we did get out he suggested they take a walk on the pedestrian bridge to kill some extra time before the dinner reservation. Still confused at this point, Kristina agreed and from there his plan was in motion. Knowing that she would want a photo to commemorate the evening, Tyler had a photographer waiting and surprised Kristina by dropping to one knee on the bridge. The moment was so special and will always be a fond memory to look back upon.
