Yes, every guest should have a plus one listed on their invitation. Please be sure to indicate that you are bringing a guest when you RSVP so that we can plan appropriately for seating and meal arrangements.
We are leaving this decision to our guests. The focus of our day is that each guest enjoys the party to the fullest, however that might look for you. A few things we ask guests keep in mind when weighing the option to bring children under 10 years old: 1) Our wedding is in the evening and late night, 2) the events do NOT include any accommodations for children (e.g., child menu, play room, activities/entertainment for children), 3) we’ve chosen to make the focus of our wedding day on creating an adult-focused lively party atmosphere (including musical selections from ceremony to reception that are not child-friendly). For these reasons, we recommend that it may make for a more enjoyable experience for our guests who are parents of children under 10 years to arrange alternate child care so they are free to fully immerse themselves in a night of dancing, indulging, and celebrating.
Yes, we have arranged for free on-site parking at the Garden Theater for all guests on the day of the wedding. For the welcome cocktail hour on Friday January 31st, free on-site parking is available for all guests at The Whiskey Factory.
Yes, please see the Travel section of our wedding website for information about travel to and from Detroit as well as within the city for wedding weekend events, hotel blocks and discount codes, and other details for those who are traveling to celebrate with us.
The wedding and reception are both at the Garden Theater, and the hotels we recommend are within one mile of the venue (please see the Schedule and Travel sections of our wedding website for details about locations, lodging, and transportation). If you have a car, there is free parking for wedding guests at the Garden Theater. The Q-Line is a free public transportation option with several stations on Woodward Ave. Trains run every 15 minutes, and rides are completely free of charge, making the Q-Line a very convenient option for transportation between downtown hotels and the wedding venue in mid-town. Otherwise, taxi, Lyft, or Uber are convenient options for shuttling between your hotel and the venue. A Lyft discount code will be available in the Travel section of our wedding website for those who will be using ride share.
The bride and groom will be dressed to the nines, as we are never ones to miss an opportunity to dress up and flaunt our bold and off-kilter style preferences. Guests are encouraged to join us in wearing attire that fits their personal preferences and comfort level, whatever that might look like for everyone individually. We just want everyone to have a great time celebrating with us! Nothing is off-limits, wardrobe-wise, so please do feel free to get creative and have fun. We are lovers of fashion, colors, costumes, and outside-the-box style choices (as you will quickly see of our own wedding day attire), so please don’t hesitate to go a little wild 🤪 One attire consideration is that Detroit is very cold in the winter (and quite possibly snowy and icy), so guests are encouraged to dress accordingly. However, all of our wedding events will be inside once you arrive at the venue, and a complementary coat check is available.
RSVP section is active on the wedding website for anyone who wishes to RSVP early. Otherwise, we will be sending formal invitations in the fall (2024) that will include a QR code where you can indicate whether you are attending with a guest, as well as meal preferences and any dietary restrictions.
