McGuire's Irish Pub
You HAVE to go here! McGuire’s is unique to the area & is unlike any other Irish Pub you have ever been to! The massive dining room and ambient lighting is perfect for friends, families, date night or a night on the town! The gift shop is connected to the wine cellar where you can buy bottles of local wine. Even better is its a brewery!!! Try McGuire’s Irish Red with an order of Rueben egg rolls or Irish Boxtys & you wont want to eat anywhere else! McGuire’s is located at the foot of the Destin Bridge, across the street from HarborWalk Village, Coyote Ugly Saloon and AJ’s!!! Beat prices in Destin! You will find expensive items, but there is something for everyone & every wallet!
AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar
AJ’s has amazing local, fresh caught seafood with a view of the Destin Harbor and Gulf of Mexico. It is a family friendly dining experience until after hours. After dinner, AJ’s turns into the most lively nightclub on the Harbor, with drink specials, live music and late night hours! The prices vary, but there is something for everyone & every budget.
HarborWalk Village
Located at the foot of the Destin Bridge, across the street from McGuire’s Irish Pub, HarborWalk Village gives you the original fishing village feel of Old Destin! Great local shops and food. If you time it right, you may even see the fishing boats come in with the days dinner catch for the local restaurants!
Harbor Docks
This is your typical tourist restaurant, but MAN is it good! The fish are caught daily in the Gulf of Mexico, cleaned and cut on the dock out back & cooked fresh by some of the best chefs in Destin. If you want the Destin Seafood experience, check out this little gem! (Lunch is a great deal, dinner can be pricey)
Donut Hole Bakery Cafe
I wont lie, the donuts aren’t as good as Krispy Kreme, but the breakfast, crepes, and pastries are splendid!!! If you are staying on the Island or Destin, take a morning and visit the Donut Hole for breakfast!
Crazy Madhatter's Salon de Tea
If you like tea, this place is for you! They have over 20 handmade tea blends! The pumpkin chai with a little cream and sugar is a blessing from Tea Heaven!! The owners are the nicest people & make the most delectable tea time treats!!! Try the Alice Platter for a sample of all the german treats & sip from a pot of tea in real china. You’ll have fun, feel classy and leave stuffed!!
Coffee Shoppe
My grandfather (me, Cathryne, the bride) took me here every morning for breakfast from PreK until I graduated high school. It is a very special place with great food. Dont judge a book by its cover, this is a local favorite. The Coffee Shoppee is on John Sims Pkwy, a couple miles east of Eglin AFB. You cant miss it!
Turkey Creek Park
For you morning stroll folks! Turkey Creek Walk will take you several miles on a boardwalk through the woods, along the freshwater Turkey Creek. It is a beautiful place for a morning run or walk and surround yourself with nature.
Wild Willy's Adventure Zone
If you have little ones, this place is a must see!! It is guaranteed to bring a load of fun to you & your family! My description cannot do it justice, so check out the website to see seasonal hours and activities.
Destin Commons
Located just past the foot of the Midbay Bridge. The Destin Commons is an outdoor shopping mall with local and well known stores. Here you will find the AMC movie theater, Bass Pro Shop, Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl, Kilwin’s Sweets, and so much more! If you want a day with the sun & the breeze, hop on over to The Destin Commons.
3rd Planet Brewing
Now serving in Niceville is our local micro brewery! They make and serve the best, one-of-a-kind beers. You can have a front row seat to the brewing in action or enjoy the laid back atmosphere of the bar.
Starbucks
Because Starbuck. Yes, we have one. Yes, I will go with you. We can fill up on Pumpkin Spice and cake pops.

Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida
We know some of you with kiddos will be taking time from school, so don’t miss out on an educational experience!! The Heritage Museum is in Old Valparaiso. This tiny museum will walk you through Boggy Bayou from the Indians to the fishing village! Once you’re done, walk through the square and down to the park to take in the beauty of Boggy Bayou!
Air Force Armament Museum
We know some of you with kiddos will be taking time from school, so don’t miss out on an educational experience!! The Air Force Armament Museum is located out of Eglin AFB’s West gate. It is a wonderful piece of military history in our area. You can take a walk outside to view dozens of retired aircrafts & read about their history. Once you’re done, fly into the hanger to see decades of Eglin AFB and Air Force history & artifacts! Admission is free!!!
Nxt Lvl Nightclub
This is definitely a place for the younger crowd! It is our area’s newest night life addition. Located in Fort Walton Beach, before the Brooks Bridge going to The Okaloosa Island.
The Block
Now this nightclub is for everyone (18+). The Block Is primarily a “country” club, complete with wooden dance floor for two steppin’ & an electronic bull for ridin’!! To the left of the main bar will take you into the karaoke bar, where you can spend the night serenading one another! If you are more of the hip-hop, strobe light person & your friends voted against Nxt Lvl, go up the stairs to the right of the DJ booth & dance floor (in the main bar). You will find a completely different atmosphere and crowd! Cover varies, usually $10-$20 for under 21 y/o.
Pensacola Interstate Fair
If you are up for a drive, the Pensacola Interstate Fair will be in town for 10 days late October. It is about an hour and 15 minute drive, but it’s worth it.
