FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Wear something nice. The wedding is not casual, but it is not formal. A nice tucked in shirt with slacks for boys & men, a pretty cocktail dress or something classy for women. Ladies, don’t wear white please.

Question

Is it a halloween wedding?

Answer

Yes and no. It is autumn themed, with halloween aspects for fun. This DOES NOT mean you should wear a costume. I repeat DO NOT WEAR A COSTUME. If you do, you will politely be asked to wait inside the reception hall until the ceremony has ended.

Question

Can I (or my kids) where a halloween costume?

Answer

NO. Please DO NOT do this. We will have halloween themed activities for kids where they can decorate a small mask that they may wear during the reception. Besides that, please be respectful & save the cute (or spooky) costumes for October 31.

Question

Is the wedding kid friendly?

Answer

The ceremony is ADULTS ONLY. However, the reception is for everyone. The ceremony is just outside the reception hall, so you will not have to leave the venue.

Question

What do I do with my child during the ceremony?

Answer

We’ve got you covered! We are providing child care for you. We have hired a professional, licensed childcare provider for the evening. They will have a list of all the children’s names, simply check your child(ren) in before the ceremony. You may come get them to join you for the reception OR leave them there! We will provide food, halloween arts & crafts, games, and other festive activities.

Question

Where is the childcare area?

Answer

It is adjacent to the reception hall (basically in the same room with a small divider). Your little love will be in great hands and always within reach. Once again, after the short ceremony you can pick them up & have them with you all night. However, you are more than welcome to take advantage of the childcare & leave them there as long as you would like. Please remember to check your child in and out with the provider if they are staying for the reception.

Question

Can I take pictures or videos of the ceremony?

Answer

We ask that you DO NOT use your cell phone or personal camera during the ceremony. We have hired a wonderful photographer & will share all the happy memories with you after the wedding. This is so that everyone can enjoy the ceremony without any disturbance or distractions. Please be courteous and keep your electronics turned off and put away until the ceremony is over.

Question

I am not military, how do I get on base for the wedding?

Answer

We will provide Eglin AFB Security Forces with a list of CONFIRMED guests. All you have to do is tell them you are attending the Smith Wedding and show them your Driver’s License. Please note: they will run a background check on each guest.

Question

Do I have to RSVP? What if I forget to RSVP?

Answer

If you do NOT have military base access and you did not RSVP, you will not be allowed on base. We have to provide a list to the base, if you do not RSVP you will most likely not be on the list. Also, we may not have food or seating for you if you do not RSVP by the no later than date of October 6, 2019.
