Riverfront Park will be crowded with Hoopfest festivities, but it is a beautiful and newly renovated park right in downtown Spokane! The Spokane river cuts right through downtown and there are falls to view in the park as well. It is connected to the Centennial Trail, which is a paved trail system running all through Spokane and even all the way to Idaho. You can rent Lime Bikes or walk around the park. Be sure to feed the garbage goat!
Coeur d'Alene is a beautiful city in Idaho, just forty minutes from downtown Spokane. It is home to Lake Coeur d'Alene, a gorgeous and exclusive lake right downtown with beautiful views and various hiking trails ranging from from easy to difficult. In walking distance to many shops, cafes, ice cream, bars, breweries and restaurants.
Not our favorite beer in town, but they hands down have the BEST patio in Spokane. They are located near Gonzaga University directly on the river. Their patio has a little sand section, plenty of seating and an incredibly peaceful and fun atmosphere to relax in the evening with a cold beer. It will for sure be packed, as they are the most well-known brewery in town and we are sure Hoopfest-ers will flock here, but it is definitely worth checking out.
If you want a taste of East Coast-style pizza in Spokane, DiNardi's is your place. This is our favorite pizza place in Spokane and have developed a relationship with owner Ciro DiNardi who moved here from Yonkers, NY with his family's recipes from Sicily, Italy.
Ruins has been visited recently by Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and Alton Brown and has increased in popularity, but it has been a long-time favorite of ours. They rotate their menu every 3-4 weeks with new themes and every Monday feature their own takes on fast food burgers.
This is the coffee shop where most of our wedding planning took place. It's an old garage converted into a cafe and it's right across the street from Tyler's house! They have coffee, ice cream, rice bowls, sandwiches, beer, wine, and (our favorite) $2 mimosas all weekend long! Also, every Thursday night from May-October you'll find Tyler there looking for fresh produce and local pastries at one of the city's many farmers markets.
Our favorite pub in town. Anthony works sound here every week and we love the owners! They have great traditional pub fare and wonderful beer selection. Located in our own Perry neighborhood just ten minutes south of downtown.
Our favorite breakfast place in town. It's counter service, so it's a little speedier than a traditional sit down. Gourmet ingredients all masterminded by classically trained French chef, Laurent who was a James Beard Award semifinalist in 2017. He also owns a premier French restaurant in Post Falls, ID.
A historic theater located in the Garland district of Spokane just north of downtown. This area has an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and bars. The theater itself has discount movies and even cheaper tickets on Wednesdays. It also has a bar attached to it so you drink your favorite beer or wine while watching a movie.
Beautiful riverside park and beach just half an hour from downtown Spokane. This is a great way to escape the heat and relax in some fresh water that is calm and sectioned off. Home to many hiking trails and a great place to get in some sport climbing if you have your climbing gear.
One of the newer areas in Spokane. Plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and one a beautiful view of the city. In fact, this is one of our favorite views of downtown Spokane. you can walk here from downtown on the Centennial Trail and also walk down to peaceful spots on the river from here. Also, the biggest farmers market in the city is here every Wednesday night.
