Connecticut has a wide range of airports to fly into, the most local airports are HPN and BDL; but if you are brave enough to face the NYC traffic, JFK and LaGuardia are options as well.
If you are looking to turn the weekend into a week and travel to surrounding cities, we recommend the awesome Metro North Railroad trains! They run directly into the famous Grand Central, NYC.
