How We Met

8.12.15

We first met our Junior Year of College at Gardner-Webb University's 2015 New Student Orientation. It was there where Daniel did that weird thing he normally does, where he "creepily" knows things about people he has never actually met in person. Taylor was so taken off guard she called Daniel - "Kevin" - (ironically Daniel's Dads name) the entire day. From there the friendship started - The sharing of family stories, the movie quoting, and the times when two hour conversations with each other barely felt like 30 minutes. Taylor says she knew from the very beginning there was something to this relationship. From the first movie quoting session! For Daniel, like most guys, it took a little longer to realize just who he had met... It wasn't until almost a year and a half later on February 22, 2017, at a Chipotle dinner (ask Taylor about that story), when Daniel FINALLY realized how much Taylor meant to him!

The Proposal

7.1.17

Taylor was in D.C. to celebrate the 4th of July with the Napier's and on Saturday Daniel had a big day planned. First stop, a trip to The Kennedy Center to see The Sound of Music, little did Daniel know the play is much longer than the movie and hard to sit through when all you have on your mind is asking the girl siting next to you to be your wife. Next up on the plan was a dinner at Farmers, Fishers, and Bakers on the Potomac Waterfront in Georgetown where Taylor and Daniel sat outside in 97 degree heat (as if the anxiety wasn't enough for Daniel already) enjoying their meal. Daniel had about 15 glasses of water an important detail to remember. For the final location of the evening Taylor and Daniel ubered over to the Lincoln Memorial, Daniel's favorite spot in all of D.C. and a place he had always thought of proposing at. After only briefly settling down on the back side of the Memorial, Daniel suddenly had to "conveniently" use the bathroom from all the water he drank at dinner. Daniel anxiously made the walk to the front of the Memorial where he met and got the ring from his Dad. When he got back Daniel got down on one knee and asked Taylor, "Would you come on a journey with me? Will you marry me?", the response through excited tears was, "Yes, of course!"Back at the house Daniel's entire family, including his sister Hope and brother-in-law HL, were there to surprise Taylor with Georgetown Cupcakes and a Wedding Planning Box. The surprises weren't over yet. The next day Taylor's entire family made the long drive to D.C. for a surprise Sunday Brunch. What an Engagement Weekend. Family is everything to Taylor & Daniel and they are very excited to share their Big Day with you all. - Their Family! See You in Columbus!
