From the days she wore his flannel hand-me-down shirts and played with his GI Joe's, Betsy has always been trying to follow in her big brother's footsteps. These days Eric is a brilliant economics professor at Grinnell college, a gifted tennis player and outdoorsman and amazing dad to Owen. Betsy still thinks he's pretty cool and loves getting time to hang out with him whenever she can.

Sister of the Groom
From taking Tye on college tours back in 2004, to giving him a roof to sleep under when college was done, no person has done more to support Tye over the past 15 years. So much more than an older sister, Alyssa is Tye's best friend and an ever-eager partner in crime on trips around the globe.
Sara Kemper

Betsy owes a lot to Sara who she first bonded with in 1st grade over Little Bunny Fu Fu. Sara led Betsy to Capital Hill and steered her toward Rice University, and even introduced her to Tye! Sara and Betsy both went into teaching together after college and moved back to MN two years later. They even decided to buy a house together so their two families could continue the next life adventures together!

The older, handsomer, better singing version of the groom, Tye's done his best to live up to the amazing examples Cade set in athletics, academics, and appreciation of mid-90's hip hop. By god, he's still trying.

Since 2nd grade Jessie has been making Betsy laugh and think deeply about all manner of things. The tallest of the tall girls, Jessie and Betsy have had a million adventures together from New Orleans to Vegas!
Peder Engelstad

Partner and best friend in all things music, canoeing, and exploring the Canadian wilderness. Master baker and harmonizer, Peder's passion, friendship and loyalty have inspired Tye countless times over the years.

Meg and Betsy became fast friends at Rice as they battled meek girls and became semi-professional party planners. They lived together for the last two years of Rice when they had way too much fun riding around Houston on Betsy's scooter.
Todd Eaton

Growing up playing soccer in Bemidji, Minnesota, Tye quickly learned that Todd was the person you passed the ball to whenever you were in trouble. Since then, they've got each other IN and OUT of plenty of trouble, with nonstop laughs along the way.
Kelsey Dahlager

Kelsey and Betsy became friends in freshman year math class and lived together for two years in the peak years of their 20's in Uptown. Besides being an amazing friend in all ways, Kelsey has inspired Betsy in all things athletic- triathlons, swimming and Bodypump and continues to be the best shopping partner you can find.

From rivals turned friends at Vassar college to best friends and co-homeowners in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Tye and Sean work hard to keep each other young, often times to the detriment of their housemates Betsy and Sara. Some might say it was Sean that introduced Tye and Betsy all those years ago, meaning this whole weekend is his fault.

Amanda and Betsy met in the Moody towers as roommates at Teach for America summer institute and have been friends ever since. Amanda, Betsy and MJ love to go on adventures around the country and are hard at work on a plan to save American education as we know it.
Tracey Blasenheim

Tye first encountered "The Blas" in a testy exchange on the intramural soccer fields of Vassar college. While Tye limped away thinking he'd found a nemesis, he'd later learn that those shin-kicks were the start of a lifelong friendship that would introduce him to amazing places and people from across the globe. Tracey will claim it was grad school that brought him to complete a PHD at the University of Minnesota, but Tye knows otherwise. An accomplished storyteller, party-starter, and all around Piano Man, a day spent with "the Blas" is always a day well spent.
Zindzi McCormick

Zindzi and Betsy met in high school and have been great friends ever since even living together in New York City for a summer. The wickedly smart, future CEO of Tall Girls International, Zindzi currently heads up the West Coast branch of the operation, always brings #unlimitedchamp, and keeps us all on time, on trend and in touch.

MJ and Betsy met in the Moody towers as roommates at Teach for America summer institute and have been friends ever since. Razor-sharp, wicked funny and a 30-under-30 Education Luminary, Betsy thinks her wit, loyalty and generosity also deserve recognition. Betsy, MJ and Amanda love to go on adventures around the country and are hard at work on a plan to save American education as we know it.

Becca and Betsy became friends in Kindergarten when Betsy threw up on Becca's rain slicker and Becca peed in her snowsuit. They rekindled their friendship in high school and have stayed close ever since. A brilliant soccer player and scientist, Becca and Betsy lived together in Uptown for a year where they barely decorated their apartment but had a lot of great candlelit dinners.
