Things To Do

We're partial but we think we live in the best state for summer! Whether you prefer camping, glamping, floating rivers, hiking, or luxury beach hotels, we have it all.

Grand Haven State Park

1001 South Harbor Drive, Grand Haven, MI 49417

~ 40 minutes from GR. Grand Haven has an amazing pier which is perfect to visit at night with the pier lights lit up! The city of GH has a couple great breweries and shops to visit. Recommendations: Oddside Ales, Grand Armory Brewing, Pronto Pups, GH Pier.

Silver Lake Sand Dunes

1765 North Lakeview Drive, Mears, MI 49436

~ 1 hour from GR. Huge expanse of sand dunes on Lake Michigan! The town has dune buggy rentals or tours to get up on the dunes. Walking up on the dunes is recommended but bring sunscreen and water! :) Recommendations: Mac Woods Dune Rides, Cherry Point Farm and Market, Little Point Sable Light House.

Holland

Holland, MI 49423

Beautiful Dutch historic downtown with shops, coffee shops, breweries, and the amazing Holland Peanut Store (old-fashioned candy shop). Windmill Island in Holland has the only authentic working Dutch windmill in the USA. Definitely worth the visit for Dutch-American history and beautiful landscapes! Also Holland is located on the lakeshore with excellent beaches at Holland State Park and Tunnel Park!

Up North, Michigan

If you're visiting from out of state and have time, there are so many amazing locations in the Mitten State to visit. Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Mackinac Island, the Upper Peninsula, are just a handful of places to visit if you are planning a Michigan summertime extravaganza trip!
