It still amazes us to this day how we literally lived less than 10 minutes away from each other growing up in Mississippi. We both went to the same high school, but never really crossed paths. Got to college and that's when we finally noticed each other. After a conversation that was sparked by Terri, we began to get to know each other on a more personal level. At the time, we were both attending different colleges and I knew if I had any chance with progressing our relationship that I had to get her to transfer to THEE Jackson State University. Somehow...someway...I was able to convince Terri to transfer to JSU and that is when our relationship began and took off!

As many know already, the proposal took place in Jamaica of last year in June. I was able to set everything up with Terri's mother without Terri not getting the slightest hint. I made a trip back home one weekend while Terri was in nursing school to grab some lunch with Terri's mother. That is where we sat and came up with the idea that I would propose to Terri in Jamaica! I don't think I can ever hold a secret from Terri like that ever! As the days crept closer to the day of the proposal, the more my anxiety continued to grow and the closer I was to spilling the beans. But it was well worth the wait seeing Terri's reaction as the blindfolds were removed from her face. Definitely a moment we will never forget but we are thrillingly looking forward to making this next huge step with family and friends in Tulum!
