There are several distilleries to visit while in Kentucky! Feel free to reach out to us if you need help planning your bourbon experience. Our favorites include: Angel's Envy: An excellent introduction to how bourbon is made. Alana's Favorite! Michters: Stephen's favorite! This distillery focuses on a modern approach to bourbon and rye of the highest quality. Also has a great bar! Rabbit Hole: A new distillery in NuLu whose tour ends in a bar with amazing city views. Bar opens at 3pm and is worth a visit regardless of if you do the tour. The Evan Williams Experience: Learn about how the history of bourbon and Louisville intertwine, ending with a tasting. Copper and Kings: Not actually a bourbon distillery, Copper and Kings mainly produces brandy. If you'd like to leave the city, Woodford Reserve is a must! It's a classic plantation tour about an hour east of Louisville. Check out Mint Julep Tours for day trips to distilleries such as Makers Mark, Jim Beam, Four Roses and more!

Take a stroll across The Big Four Bridge to the historic Jeffersonville, Indiana (2 miles round trip including the ramps on either side). The Big Four® Bridge links Louisville Waterfront Park to Jeffersonville, Indiana over the Ohio River. It was originally built as a railroad bridge in 1895, and decommissioned in the 1960s. On a clear day, it provides some of the best views of the city, especially at sunset.

One of our favorite ways to counter the effects of all of that delicious southern cooking is to walk the Anchorage Trail. Follow the trail to the compass and see where we got engaged! The Anchorage Trail is a 2 mile paved path that forms a loop for walking, running, or biking. It starts in downtown Anchorage and winds through trees, over creeks, and by farm fields.
