Yes, we will have little ones included on our special day.
You can expect both the ceremony and reception to take place indoors.
The wedding ceremony at the Church is expected to end around 5 pm. After the ceremony, the bridal party/family of the bride and groom will spend about an hour and a half to take pictures both at the church and onsite at Chateau Elan. Our cocktail hour will begin at 6 pm on the second level balcony/terrace of the Chateau Elan Winery (this is the main building within the property, located behind the statue) , so our guests can expect an hour gap in time between the end of the wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. Around 7pm, guests will then be ushered to the Cask Room, also located within the Winery, where our reception will take place with the bride and groom in attendance. Chateau Elan has bars and restaurants open to the public within the property, so you are welcome to explore nearby as an option during this short break. It is about a 15 minute drive from Prince of Peace Catholic Church to Chateau Elan, so be sure to account for this in your plans during the hour break.
There will be sufficient parking available at both the ceremony and reception. For the reception at Chateau Elan, guests may find more parking availability toward the back of the property, near Paddy's Irish Pub. And, yes, parking will be free at both sites.
Yes, we will not let our guests go hungry! You can expect drinks and hors d'oeuvres to be served during cocktail hour. Drinks will be served throughout the reception via the open bar, and there will be plated meals served shortly after cocktail hour. Meal options will be available for our guests to choose from when they RSVP.
If our guests find that the meal options are not inclusive of their diet restrictions, we kindly ask that they denote any food allergies/diet restrictions that they have when completing their RSVPs. We will do the best we can to accommodate special diets.
Don't you worry, there will be a full open bar!
Weather in Georgia can be pretty fickle, but you can likely expect it to still be pretty warm in late September. Based on previous weather trends, highs in late September tend to be in the 70s/80s and lows in the 60s/50s. We recommend following the weather closely as the time approaches to get a more accurate idea and prepare your outfit choices accordingly.
The bride and groom kindly ask guests to refrain from taking and posting photos of the wedding ceremony to be present during this special occasion and allow our professional photographers to capture the beautiful moments. However, the bride and groom encourage our guests to take all of the photos during the reception at Chateau Elan. Feel free to use the wedding hashtag #TurningTurac to post fun moments on social media so the bride and groom can look back on all the happy memories as well!
