Since the ceremony is in church, guests are expected to dress up semi-formally and conservatively. If you own traditional Vietnamese attire (áo dài), you are encouraged to wear it! For the reception, cocktail attire is appropriate. There will be lots of dancing so wear something comfortable for you to move in.
In our culture, it's traditional to gift "lucky" monetary presents to assist the newlywed couple with getting started on our new life journey together. At Vietnamese weddings, the bride and groom - with entourage in tow - greets every table of guests at their reception to toast and thank them for attending, so please hold onto your gifts until then!
We want to let you know that your health and safety are our top priority. Fortunately, about 90% of our guests are fully vaccinated! For the church ceremony, the priest is leaving it up to the guest's discretion whether he/she wants to wear a mask if the individual is fully vaccinated and feeling well. For the reception, the venue is asking guests to wear a face covering until seated.
