After a brief separation for personal growth, God intervened in 2022 when Kaytlyn reached out to Van on Instagram in response to a baby picture of Van. "Boiii, look at them ears, you grew into those," said Kaytlyn. Van, quick-witted, responded, “Oh you got jokes now?” Attending his pro-am games became her subtle way of showing interest until Van finally took the initiative to invite her on a date. The choice of picking a number (3) led them to Honeycomb Cafe in Belmont, NC. Brunch that day was filled with nervous excitement. Neither one of them made a dent in their plates, and that was ABNORMAL. Kaytlyn initially thought Van just wanted friendship, but a few more conversations revealed that their connection was destined to be something special and lasting. Dating since August 2022, Kaytlyn took the leap and said "I love you" first, met with Van's heartfelt response just 30 seconds later. The official boyfriend-girlfriend moment happened in an unexpected place – the parking garage of Kaytlyn's apartment on October 28, 2022. Their shared love for God is intertwined with every aspect of their lives, from attending church on Sundays, praying about EVERYTHING, and getting baptized together in December 2023. In addition to their spiritual connection, Van and Kaytlyn indulge in various activities that bring them joy. Whether it's enjoying weekly date nights, sneaking entire dinner plates into movie theaters, working out together, playing HORSE, or exploring nature, their bond is a testament to their shared interests.
