A comprehensive guide on all of our favorite places, restaurants and activities in Sarasota
Ranked the #2 Beach in the U.S. by TripAdvisor's Traveler's Choice Awards. Recommend a morning walk along the beach or a visit to the famous DRUM CIRCLE on Sunday nights near the public beach access starting an hour before sunset. Additional amazing nearby beaches to explore include Lido Beach and Nokomis Beach.
Tina's favorite seafood restaurant east of the Mississippi. Order the scamp fish, lightly blackened, with lemon & caper butter sauce. Pro tip: count on an hour wait so put your name on the list and walk to a nearby bar for a pre-dinner cocktail.
Casey Key Excursion: Take a few hours to explore beautiful Casey Key. Start by having a waterside lunch at Casey Key Fish House. After lunch head west on Casey Key Road and enjoy the gorgeous Gulf of Mexico views on your way to Nokomis Public Beach. Park at the Nokomis Beach Jetty and take a walk along the jetty to observe local fishermen and meandering tourists. Beautiful and unspoiled views!
Every Saturday morning 7am-1pm! Large farmers market full of tropical plants, fresh produce, smoothies and other delicious treats. Find the empanada food stand and try a few unusual flavors. Live music and plenty of people watching. Pro tip: park at the Selby Library on 1st street.
Tina and Drew both get dreadfully seasick, but we are sure you will love a boat excursion in the Gulf! Reserve well in advance! Recommend dramamine, ginger chews, and motion sickness wristbands. If you're interested in exploring the calm waters of the intercoastal waterways or a sunset cruise, contact Drew's friend, RJ Magaldi at 941-402-1418 (well in advance!)
