Proof that the algorithm works. In the fall of 2022, Rahul was working and living in the same Northern Virginia city where he had grown up. Having spent her entire life in small-town Pennsylvania, Tulsi had recently moved to Fairfax, Virginia, for her graduate studies at George Mason University. Everything felt new and a little overwhelming, but she was ready to explore — both the DMV area and its dating scene. After some convincing from friends, she joined Hinge and the rest is history. Tulsi and Rahul were a match! More than anything, it was his name that first caught the attention of the Bollywood-obsessed bride. The same name Shah Rukh Khan has in so many of his films... that alone felt like a divine sign to give it a shot. On their first date at a local cafe, the couple bonded over their similar life paths and shared passions for masala chai and the world of cinema. What was supposed to be a quick, after-work hello turned into a 3-hour-long conversation that lasted until the lights dimmed and owner said, "We're about to clean up and close, but you two can keep chatting." She Said Yes

After a few years of dating and many conversations about the future, Rahul knew he was ready to pop the question. They had been planning a summer trip to Outer Banks, North Carolina, and Rahul conveniently scheduled a "sunset photoshoot" that Tulsi "knew nothing about." The golden hour, soft sand, and flowing winds at Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge crafted the perfect recipe for Rahul to get down on one knee and for Tulsi to embrace her new fiancé.
